I recently bought my first Z4 after years of family cars and wanting something with big capacity petrol motor. My last fun car was the Midget which I shared with my Dad when I passed my test. It was great fun against my friends usual Clio's and Nova's.
I bought an early '03 version with 3.0 M54, manual, 18" Elipsoid wheels, heated leather seats, relocated roof motor and under 100k miles. The guy I bought it from was a really nice chap and also had an E46 M3.
Annoyingly once I'd got home, the door lock failed into the dead lock position and I couldn't open the drivers door from either interior or exterior door. I've been climbing over with the roof open since!
Colleague at work has been helping me with it as he's an ex BMW tech and has an in with several very knowledgable people. We've tried oiling the motor, giving some 'gentle persuasion' with a drift and bar. We'll be drilling it on Wednesday to manually get inside the lock and open it and then replace it.
On the list to do is:
An obviously use the car whenever we can!

- Fit Pioneer SPH-10 stereo
- Fit USB power ports in the under climate panel
- New D2S and H7 bulbs
- Carly to program roof open / close etc
