I have been wanting to add a second 12 volt power outlet to my Z4 for awhile now. I have a Garmin Nuvi so that ties up the only power source available. I went to Radioshack and for around 7 bux I bought another outlet. While I was adding the power I decided to relocate the Aux input for my Ipod so I can close the ash tray.

Here are some pix it came out decent and everything works just fine.

I hid the wires the best I could, it tucked into the interior trim

and finally I have power to the Nav and my Ipod connected without using the ash tray plus I have an available power source.

Ipod/cell phone but my goal was to free the clutter of wires running out of the ash tray. It bugged me that the ash tray door was always open.
 
Looks good, this panel in the Z4 is very handy for things like this, there have been a few different used now for this area.
 
Looks good - Ive done something similar but routed an extension through to the glovebox, and then all the plugged in chargers (TomTom, Phone & Ipod) back through in the ashtray area, so all the plugs hide away into the ash tray and none of the chargers are visible.

Still have to have the ash tray open to use them all though...
 
Very nice install.

btw, under that panel you installed the connectors to? I keep my photon torpedoes spares in there.
