My very first Z spotted

By my son in Bicester. Intergalactic miles now and some dodgy MOT history and miles.

Still looking good though. I sold it to buy my first M just before it was 3 years old.

Occasionally a stranger will comment on my M but there was a moment of panic a week ago in crawling traffic as 2 lanes merged and someone in the car next to me about to merge started matching my crawl speed and gesticulating at me through his window. I thought he was trying to tell me something was wrong so, concerned, I lowered the window. Then he just smiled, pointed at the car and said "lovely car". Phew!

Bit of a new experience, strangers walking up and starting to chat about my car.

I saw my first bm, my old 330ci locally a few months ago. Still looked in great condition and well cared for. I wanted to flag him down but happened too fast.
Also found the owner of my beloved M3 on cutters too and he shared some pictures. Great to see them both.
 
And did your new owner rub additional salt in the wounds by stating how much more it was worth now @RMB ? :rofl: :rofl::poke:

The MOT history is weird, it dropped 40k miles in 2009 so the total miles now is 212k. You see, it is all in the way I ran the car in that it survived so long :) (owners seem to have tyre and brake issues looking over the years)

When I was young, if you couldn't afford to buy a house nearer London you bought in Aylesbury. If you were poorer than that you went to Bicester. And if you were skint you moved to Banbury. Anywhere north of that was basically Birmingham.

He doesn't live there, he went to the outlet thing there. Still, I would not want to go there or anywhere near shops in any case :)

It's great to know it is still being looked after.

I sold my second 2.8i Capri in 1990 and a few years ago someone on another forum posted a photo he had taken of it in about 2010 looking a bit unloved in the Shetlands!

When I read the title, I thought, blimey PVR have you been living with your eyes wide shut, how could you have not spotted any other zeds in the last twenty three years, but it all made sense when I opened the post :LOL:

Did you choose the beige roof?

All that you see on the car I did, replaced the side and rears for clears and changed the wheels to 107. The roof was indeed my choice with the blue.


Ok, perhaps I would not chose it today but it was 23 years ago I specced that car.

Wonder if the retrofitted navigation screen still works as it could be a little temperamental

Not disapproval, I don't think I'd ever seen a zed with a beige roof before, anyway taste is a personal thing. I had a garnet red audi A4 convertible with a red roof and cream leather seats and I thought it was lush.
