My Toledo Torpedo, back in London

Hey everyone

I have just got back from picking up my newly acquired 2005 Z4 3.0 roadster. I have been keeping an eye on cars for sale and lurking on the forum since the summer and really wanted a Zed in one of the rarer colours (initially red), that was untill I clapped eyes on BMW Toledo Blue. What can I say other than I have been grinning ear to ear for every mile of the 3 hour journey back from Weymouth to its new home in North London.
My car history is heavily Triumph based so to me the Z4 is by far the newest car I have ever owned, I think I could get used to all these modern creature comforts, a roof that actually keeps the water out and heated seats are a world away from what I’m used to. Looking forward to attending some of the forum events and hopefully meeting some of you guys and gals. I’m sure I’ve seen a regular forum contributor on here with a Toledo Z4 and GT6, my new Z is currently tucked away next to my GT6 in the garage, pics to follow as I know that’s a forum rule :D
Cheers Chris :driving:

Hi and welcome Chris.

Pre-facelift Z4s did have some great colours - I love Toledo blue and Merlot.

That's quite a drive home - you should be used to your 21st Century car now.

You've even got an electric roof now - but if the roof motor hasn't been moved into the boot you might want to get that done while it still works (they get drowned if you leave them where BMW put them). :(

There was a well attended meet at the Ace Café last year, so hopefully there will be another this year as that shouldn't be too far from you. There should be a bit of video here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIZLiHumuUI

Anyway you've already "met" the other Toledo Z4 & GT6 owner (even if neither is on the road just now).

Looking forward to the pics.

Ah a man of exquisite taste, i see it says your car is currently in bits, if you need any parts to get it back on the road let me know, i have been pratting around with rusty old Triumphs for the past 25 years and have accumulated lots of spit/gt junk

I'm not sure you could call firebobby a man of exquisite taste to be fair - he likes wood in a Z4! :o

Mk 2 GT6
is that stoneleigh ?? Your Zed looks lovely and 107''s too, just needs a real aerial now :P

I do regularly attend stoneleigh but that photo was taken at Malvern for the TR international event, my TR’s fuel pump gave up last minute so the GT6 saved the day and got me there for the weekend.
