My sterling grey 2.5

After much hunting, thinking about it and hunting some more I managed to source a car local to me (near Belfast) Nice low mileage motor with a full dealer history and all its MoTs. No plans in terms of modifications, maybe change the head unit for an iPod one at some point

Welcome that's a nice looking example and a good choice, but I would say that

Wheels can make a big difference and there is always a market for half decent alloys to use a winters, Although they are a swine to keep corrosion free I still think the BBS split-rim 108's are the classic E85/6 wheel and really suit the Sterling Grey (these have grey coded centres).

Enjoy

Yes, I'd agree and different types really set off a Sterling Grey Zed and add that individual character.

Both lovely examples, larger wheels do make a big difference. I'll probably wait until I need tyres then change the rims and get rid of the run flats.
I enjoyed getting a run out today with the hood down, the note of the straight six is glorious.

Welcome to the forum - you've come to the wrong place if you want to keep your Zed as you bought it :D
Good to see you're enjoying the straight six already :driving:

Yes, that sound and the first experience of driving a Zed is unforgetable. Enjoy it !

Absolutely a good choice. Welcome to the forum from another 2.5 sterling grey owner. Marlon is quite right though, this isn't the place to be if you want to keep the car as standard
Here's mine with its winter hat on and a set of 107's.

Ordered an aux audio cable this morning, it was only a £5er but it's a slippery slope!

Oh Yes...It will be a £7 stubby next and then on into double figures, then trebble before you know it !!!
Thats how this forum sucks you in !!

It started off with a cheap Sterling 2.5 four years ago. Now, Somehow I'm on my 7th car with an Alpina sat in the garage and a 3.0 si sat on the drive, :headbang:

Welcome to the Forum Graeme,

nice car you got!

Yes, this is indeed a "dangerous" place: I joined in November (after getting mine in Northern Ireland) and already looking into alloys, strut bars, brake kits etc

(with you it is now 3 forum members on this island ... as far as I can tell)

The good thing is you have bought a 2003 model, so you will have the full BMW loom in the car so most upgrades will simply be plug and play. Electric heated seats, cruise control etc if you look on here you will find plenty of details
