My second Z4

Hi all.

I had an 04 Z4 2.5 for about 3 years and am picking up a 3.0 tomorrow!

It's an 03 with plenty of extras. I've missed the driving pleasure these cars have in spades and can't wait for that smile to come back.
Pictures will follow.

Should be a good day today then. :)

Interested to hear what you feel about the 3.0, having stepped up an engine and down a year.

Well it was an enjoyable drive back.

There are some niggles with the car that I need to sort out but in general a fine beast. I'll take some shots on Thursday morning and post them (once I read you how to stuff first).

Power was of course up. Ride was stiffer. Noise?, well I put the sound moderator on my 2.5 and left out some of the damping, so it was pleasant but subdued. :D

One of teh front indicator bulbs was iffy so I need to make sure the connector is pushed or twisted home.
Need to get a wind defector - mounts are there but no deflector to be seen.

The engine sounds as sweet as a new one. Steering nice and positive. i only had the 16 inch wheels before so the 18's showed a bit of tramlining on motorway gullies (for the second or two that I was in the nearside lane) but I'll get used to that.

She is still on run flats and seems to have had a relaxed life. Will normal tyres fit the rims or do I need to change rims?

Looking forward to getting to know the guys here and maybe meeting up on a run soon.

I was on the Z4um for a while and greatly benefited from the help and advice there. I'm sure the spirit is the same here.

Happy driving

Great to hear that you're enjoying your new beast. Is it an AUC with warranty on it so you can nail any of those niggles at no charge?

Hi All.

Many thanks for the welcome.

I have a 1 month warranty so I topped it off with a Tesco Warranty (it is just for peace of mind of course)
I have taken a few pics of the car today but do not wish to use photobucket.

It seems that a command should be used but I have no joy yet.

Yo can fit non runflats to the rims you have.Just buy a tyre inflator and a can of jollop to put into the tyre. I've just fitted Goodyear F1 Asymtricals, they are amazing.

I shall look out for some 'normal' tyres soon.

Still having problems loading pictures without PhotoBucket.

I've tried http://etc but with no joy.
Can someone help with the hard coded instructions?
Pics waiting to share.
