My run about

Or a polo

Yes! Polo GTi

Not quite the pedigree of a Golf GTi, but hey ho. Still need to address a slight gear box oil leak, but it's booked in tomorrow to have a new seal put on. These cars eat gearboxes, it's now on its third :(

My missus had one of these... they don't half shift!

Great cars the 6N2 Gti - my favourite Polo - Be sure to check the clutch at the same time as the gearbox as the two go together usually. Once its sorted you would be loving it!

Did you get the Split rim BBS alloys or leathers in it? Very rare options I know but you never know!

125bhp in such a light car with some some additional features like xenons and all for under £1500 plus VW reliability is not to be sneered at! Nice job

Apart from the gearbox....is it a "mint" example?

To be honest, no. Good condition would be a fairer statement. Has a few dings, and the BBS split rims have been re-sprayed. I like it, fun to drive and the 1.6 lump has 125bhp which is plenty for a runaround :)

Car has been in the family for years. But spent 2 years unused in the garage due to 2nd gearbox failure :(

New clutch and gearbox are in, just the pesky oil seal to worry about now...

Fab little car IMO  . Will be driving it carefully, as I don't fancy going through another gearbox....

They get a good reputation, although 2 gearboxes does question that :)

Certainly seems like a good choice

I was thinking proton satira GTi as tweaked by lotus. Would be shed of the week on piston heads these days.

Dammit - work getting in the way of my fun... As soon as I read the first post I knew the answer from a previous thread, guess I have a pretty good memory after all. Nice wee motor

Hopefully not just for winter though, as I rather suspect you've almost missed the boat this year :)

Will be using in summer too. It's a quirky little car, plenty of poke when you press the loud pedal.

Just worried about this oil seal... I may need to back track if they can't fix it tomorrow, but at the moment she's running well :)

Let's hope this gearbox lasts a while longer

I "got it" as soon as I read your first post... :poke: :D

Looks tidy Adamski - a good wee runabout.

I wouldnt worry too much about it. When I got my Rocco it was 16 years old and the engine was older but of unknown age (16v gti transplant). It featured 3 oil leaks from seals for the best part of 18 months! Just keep the oil topped up and you wont have a problem.

Once theyre changed - nothing to worry about
