Exactly, that's when i drop a gear. Same speed, slightly more RPM, no drone. Problem solved. Of course you burn more gas that way but really the way i drive the M on afternoon blasts the slightly better highway mileage i'd get with 6th dont make any difference at all.
 
Ga41 u say u've been stoped 2-3 times by cops and they did let u go... why did they stop u??? the noise??? and how is the law in your country?? do u need papers for the registration of the exhaust or nothing at all???
 
Pretty much every aftermarket part is illegal here but cops usually turn a blind eye unless they catch you speeding or driving dangerously and they want to fine you as much as possible and remove your car from the streets. We also have noise restrictions but in order to do anything about that they need to have dB meters to measure the volume and they never carry them with them. Also they've got other cars on their hands what with all those modded Civics with fart cans in the back and those excessively loud Mitsubish Evos and what not. A little ol Z4 with a "slightly loud" exhaust isnt that much of a worry... Plus i'm always polite and dont antagonise them or anything.

The times that i've been stopped were mostly for routine license and insurance checks and once or twice for speeding (77kph in a 50kph zone on a dual carriage way!). Most police officers now know my car as it's the only Z4M in town but i'm usually careful not to speed anyway.
 
Ok because they stopped me sunday and it wasnt nice :)
i was very polite all the conversation thrue and having your girlfriend next to you always helps.
They did let me go but i really think that they stopped me because i played the idiot on the red light letting the exhaust sing. no more reving on the red light i can tell u that. But i'm facing a tough decision right now because i dont know if i should sell my exhaust or let it on...
 
I did say that this isnt the system for everyone. If you think that you'll have less trouble with a quieter system then maybe that's what you should get. Then you'll stop worrying about the police so much and start actually enjoying the car more. :thumbsup:
 
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm but i love the sound. everyone around me tells me to take them off now BUT THEY DONT UNDERSTAND HOW GREAT THE SOUND IS :evil: :rofl:
 
nahhhh keep it.... i would anyway. like i say you want to hear them with a supercharger blowing boost.............. actual fireballs ;-)
 
thx Beedub you're hardcore :) i'll keep at least this sumer then try it next sumer again since my car will not drive in winter and until next year the cops will have forget about the noise :P :evil: :evil:
 
GOt a question i got about 2000km with the RPI exhaust and the little tips on the outside of the exhaust isnt black yet???? dont tell me it will stay like that?
 
I got more miles on and the outside tips are still not black. Dont really care anymore although i do get asked every now and then if they're a "fake" quad exhaust.
 
Gasses will take the easiest route, in the rpi's case the easiest route is the larger straight pipes, the smaller outer pipes are extentions of the bigger ones so although gasses do exit from them, only a small amount in comparision compared to the larger pipes............... on another note since my exhausts how now discoulured to0 that lovely burn't SS look, they look awesome, i love the RPI, its just so over the top...... perfect.
 
So in both cases they still not black. :(
Yeah the sound is perfect :) i cant get enough every single time i start the engine in my garage it is.............. i cant describe it in words.
U do get a lot of attention.... al the time... and now every time i see cops i hope they dont stop me :D :roll: 3
but after a hole winter with the car in the garage they will forget about me :D

Only thing that really bother's me is really the small dip to be clean I WAN'T IT BLACK
 
i thougt about closing the big pipes and reving so that all the smoke goes thrue the small one : :rofl:
i know it's stupid but honestly i dont love at all having one black an the other clean
 
z4m4000, if its really bothering you, block the larger outlets so all the gas is forced out of the smaller pipes, drive like this for a few days.......job done. it doesnt personally bother me.
 
of course that it doesnt bother you. YOU HAVE A SUPERCHARGER :D
wwwwwwwoooooooooossssssssshhhhhhhhhhh i would so love to have one. I'm allready saving money little by little to buy it next summer hopefully
