First off, I had a GREAT time. Everyone that I hooked up with from the forum is TopNotch... even 2Dogs.... 
I have quickly perused other forums, and the ones that say that did not have a good time were not with US, because WE had a ball..... :ilz4f:

The car in the Garage the day before we leave.... Wet microfiber towels, drying on the line...... :wink:
The wife and I left early Wednesday morning from Va Beach, VA. As soon as we got on I85 the sky opened up for most of the trip...
Three days of detailing the car shot all to hellllll.....
Arrived at Tapoco Lodge which is about 2 miles south of Deals Gap on RT128, around 3PM..
God the car is dirty.....
Christ, there are leaves sticking to it.... LEAVES....

It is still raining off and on during this time so it is no use to try to wash the car....
Unpacked the car and went to do some scouting around.
Found this about 1/4 mile from the lodge on Rt 128 on the way to Deals Gap:

Thursday morning, checked out of the lodge and drove up to Deals Gap about 10:00.
20Ducks was already there.... We had some good car talk... Then he took this picture with my camera... It was raining again.....
YES, he had his own car, but would not show the registration....
Even dirty, his car looks good.... :camera:
No, this is my car. Not Ducks.....
Then everyone else started to filter in.
From left to right:
Nancy (I think her name was Nancy. I am terrible with names), 2Dogs, 20Ducks, Ovrkill, Imz4n and wife (cant remember her name either, Sorry:
) and my wife in the front.
Bob is a crazy man. We got along great..... :evil:

We were going to wait a little while longer before we started the Dragon, just to make sure no one else showed up, but just at that moment,
Caddyshack and inTgr8r, in Caddyshacks ///M Coupe, comes blasting up the hill to do the dragon...
That ///M sounds FANTASTIC under power.......
OK, now it's time.....
Rabman5 started out in lead with me fallowing in second.
I have NO pictures of this. My passenger and head picture taker got sick halfway up the mountain.....
It went something like this: "Oh my GOD, Slow down, your going to kill us..."
as she is trying to wedge herself in the seat and is just getting rolled around in it...
About half way up the Dragon, we came on a Trooper, and had to follow him all the way to the end. AT 30MPH....
Once we got to the end, we all turned around. Rabman5 told me to take the lead, I think because I had the radar detector, so I took lead, and off we went.
Since we just ran the Dragon, I assumed that no more Troopers were around so I took off. This REALLY frightened my wife...Rab and I got about a 1/4 mile up the road
and I looked back and did not see anyone. I slowed down to wait. Then I heard on the radio that they all had to stop for a Black Bear that wanted to cross the road....
Now everyone had formed back up and off we went again.
During the return trip, my Proclip Ipod mount BROKE. I think I flexed the car more than the mount could take.......
When we got back to Deals Gap, my wife jumped out of the car to go to the restroom.... But too her credit, she did not complain...
but things for her were just going to get WORSE.....
Before I move on, I need to say something about the Z's handling on the Dragon. Because the car has some understeer designed into it, I played with my tire pressures a little to try to correct this.
Before I left home, I bumped the front pressure up to 35psi and took the rears down to 31psi.
This really took care of the understeer. When I turned the wheel the car always went where I told it to go. I say this with one caveat' . Playing with the tire pressures will not help with DRIVER INDUCED understeer....
Most of the time, I was dealing with oversteer.....
Now were are going to caravan down to HC from Deals Gap. Imz4n took the lead.... He put us on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This road is close, in curvyness to the Dragon, but it's 80miles long with some good straight-a-ways so you can wind out the car some... with NO traffic or police.... I was in heaven. But like I said, my wife is miserable.. but she is not complaining..............

Me driving the AutoX: I did really well....
Driving the Slalom course in the big 650... it had gobs of power....but very heavy...

Panoramic Shot/Tech Day.. I had a couple of things sorted out....
I took my car to tech at 0830, since I figured that I would not get a good place for the picture. Most of the others arrived at 0530....
When I was leaving the tech tent, one of the marshalls asked if I wanted to park for the picture. I told him I was not going to do it since I would be all the way in the back.
He told me he would put me right ware we were, one row behind the rest of the other forum members, (who arrived real early :evil: )... Caddyshack arrived at the same time. We both just lucked out.... it was about 0945.....
Of course, 2Zero, won the raffle so he was up front again....

I will say this: 2Zero, did not drive his Z. He drove that big brown RV and towed the Zed......
Mark and his wife Kathy, had us all meet in his RV and provide us all with costumes. Mark is the life of the party...
In the background, I think IMZ4N is chasing his own shadow... ?????
Arrival at the Banquet: 2Dogs has that fir carpet on his face...........

CoolZ4 and wife. The nicest peaple I have ever met. He won the award for most miles 170000+ miles.. :winner:

IMZ4N and wife. He is a raving lunatic. And we got along soooo well....
We finally know who weares the pant in that family. 20Ducks with his nose ring. Provided by his wife...
Yep, 2Zero has no hair..... My wife thinks Caddyshack looks like Radar ORielly from MASH....
Driving home from a great weekend, with the Cigar I received from Smokin....
Timscuba and his wife really dressed up. But for the life of me, they looked like Gypsies, not Pirates. It just added to the fun... :lol:
My wife and I had such a good time. Hard not to with this crowd. She even asked if we can do it next year at Cleveland..... I think BMWCCA is going to keep the tradition up..
2Dogs is even worse than here on the forum. Glad he came over from England.... :drinkwine:

I was directly behind Rab, and had to a) brake semi-hard on wet pavement and b) swerve the opposite direction to avoid Rab's rear end! Fortunately, we are all good drivers and were keeping a good distance so that in just such an occurence, maneuvers could be performed safely.
