If I squint the those hatchbacks do look truck like though.

I remember a black M coupe being cloned a while back, and then the owner getting a fine for turning right on a no right turn junction in London... with a lovely CCTV image supplied that clearly showed the offending car was not an M...

Seeing as we got ours from Teddington, I just searched and checked, (to see how far I needed to put my foot in my mouth) indeed it was mmmfive. Although it was a 3.0 with the clone plates.

A very long time ago - before there were lots of cameras - I got a knock on the door one Sunday afternoon. It was the police. To cut a long story short they wanted to know if I was in the Bournemouth area on a certain date. I said that I hadn't. They asked me to prove it and I told them that proving a negative is rather difficult.

Then, in a rare moment of thinking, I realised that I had had the car MOT'd just before the date they mentioned and that the car hadn't been used since. When I produced the MOT certificate and showed them the mileage on the car their attitude completely changed. They said that this happens all the time and that I wouldn't be troubled again.

The investigation was about a murder. I still wonder how far the police would have gone had I not proved that I could've have been there.

Mileage calculations is already one thing I had thought about using as I have my MOT and all petrol receipts with a short video where I record all the MPG/MPH figures etc. This and the fact the car was last filed up on the 19 of October when it was last driven should have helped in required. Also driving to work today I remembered about the intravee journey log which again hopefully would have helped.
