My next project for all of you....

Firstly can I thank everyone that believed in my last project,
For so many people to buy one just looking at the model was very trusting.

Secondly I was very touched by all the comments from them who did receive a gear knob and them who didn't.

Right now to the point I'm little stuck on my next project.
So I was hoping to get input from you guys on what you would like then I will put the best into a poll.

Please keep in mind that I won't be doing alloys
Or anything that requires electrical engineering.

Thank you
Oliver.

Lazer engraved "Z" for the side indicators. I'm thinking just etched into the metal rather than all the way through. Something similar to the below:

350Z indicator.jpg

(N.B. this is from a 350Z but you see what I mean).

This one is specifically for an M, but again shows a little better what I would like to achieve. Either just a "Z" or possibly a BMW logo?

 I like that.
Any idea on how they fit or is it a stick on job?

I’ll post pics once I’m home. It is a stick on job really, but I’ll let the pictures do the talking. Cheers Kis

Right so found this picture as I've binned my "BMW logo" bit.

The indicator plastic has two small dimples so that it doesn't move around I guess. I'm planning on cutting them off, so the bit you make just needs to be flat. Then just double sided tape securing it in place.

I think the pins are for alignment I would leave them

Yeah but I’m planning to stick aftermarket on anyway, the aftermarket badges don’t have the same recess. Not worried TBH. I’ll mark it up whilst fitted, then fix it in final position.

If you go ahead and do something like this let me know. I’ll send you one of the old OEM badges I was playing around with. If you’re set on keeping the pins then you can use it as a template.

Also might be worth putting the first post in discussion section. Will get more views and traction there :)

P.S There is also the same thread running in discounts and services, I was advised to post here.

Done.
If I could have your old badges that would be great

:| I saw you had an idea for a gear gate, Ferrari style. I think that would be sweet, with the engraving like the gear knob ill never own now

Yeah it's still a idea I'd love to do but I need to see if I could make it work.
And other people might like something else. :D

: What ideas do you have? What would be something that "floats your boat" I ask as obviously the gear knob was your idea. And having had a few tattoos over the years, I always found the best work is when "the artist" does a take on an idea he wishes to do.
Just my thoughts
Forgot to add the gear change is a work of art.

I do like the gear gate. I think it would look smart and would be really unique or is that just me lol

I like the gear gate idea too. You’ll have to do a custom one for me tho... mines a SMG  so you’ll need 3 templates if it takes off

- manual (some are 5 speed?)
- auto (if anyone is interested)
- SMG (for the few of us with that box)

There you go. That's the project. Do a mock up I think it will be the dogs.
:D

If the gear gate is as good as the gear knob then I'm in. Another idea could be a matching handbrake handle. I'd be in for that :)
However like the gents above said, if the artist chooses something they would like to make it will most likely be made to a higher standard (the gear knob is a perfect point!)

Sorry guys but the trade or semi-trade threads need to stay in the appropriate area, otherwise we would just get lots of cross-posting.
