My new Z4M Coupe - with pics!

Have had the car for about a week now and am loving it. The power is just beautiful, especially the wooshing sound you get at about 5-6000 revs, I could listen to that all day :) Had my first decent drive in it yesterday, went from Camberley to Winchester, then on to Newbury and Swindon and then home again, and I now feel much more at home in the car, didn't go too mad, only touched 3 figures briefly :) Only small issue I have so far is when I pull up the handbrake and get out of the car there is a slightly odd screeching noise. Also, is it possible to get the station names on the radio, or is it only the frequency? Anyway, now we've had our one day of sun for the month, I took some pictures by a pub/restaurant called The Swan Inn at Newbury, which I would recommend highly....

That screeching noise you have happens on all Z4's. Does on mine. It's the handbrake. Try taking off the handbrake (leave it in gear!) and getting out. Screech gone. :wink:

Station names. Is the RDS switched on?
 
Looks very nice, although these cars are becoming very common now - I thought I'd bought something rare and now I see everyone jumping on the bandwagon :P

All my handbrake seems to do is stick when I park it overnight.

It may be something that's fixable then. Park the car with the handbrake on. Push on the rear of the car and let go and you can hear a sort of squeak like something needs oiling. Can sometime be heard when getting out of the car.

If these cars come down in price second hand any more the "lets buy a Ford Focus and tune it up" brigade will be buying them! :P
 
If it's the noise from the rear brakes when you get out of the car, the inner handbrake drums need stripped and greased. Had this on mine.
 
Ah, I think you mean the 'creak' when you get out of the car!

I just thought it was the suspension or the exhaust moving and haven't worried about it.
 
Congratulations! :D Hopefully I will be feeling like that next week when I get mine. I will look out for the screech/groan too.

What do you think of the "sun protection glass"? Was considering getting mine tinted (rear only - so legal), but not sure how it will look?
 
I get this squeak too with the handbrake but was told it would cost about 1,000 quid to get them greased by the local stealer!
