My new Z4 - proud!!!

The M badge will come off in summer when it warms up :D

I'd not go rushing to do too much on the car, just enjoy it for now... until you know what you like, it's hard to know if the mods you might make are what you actually want.

Stubby does look good, but on the other side of the coin, radio reception can be worse...

Sound generator mod is the first thing I'd do.... bwoooorrrrrpppppp!

I've got my M badge off, an 85% of the padded backing, just a thin layer of sticky stuff that is hard to budge. I've been on it for 25 minutes now, but fingernail has taken all it can. Any ideas to remove this? don't want to risk holding a hair dryer against it in case it bubbles the paint.

Whippy, you are right, I'll just enjoy the car for now. Engine brace is enough for now. But what is Sound generator mod?

Sound generator plumbs in induction noise to the cabin. There are two bits of foam which dull the sound down. Remove foam = more noise

Makes a glorious roar which can only be heard inside the car :)

Super Resin polish from Autoglym (any other polish might work too), will bring it off really quickly...

I've always used it in the past and it's great for removing the sticky foam stuff :D

Nigel-z4, your looks really good
Everytime I see a car with 108s it makes me miss my roadster. I just think they are one of the best wheel designs.

I'm even tempted to stick them on my z4mc. If I could work out how to adjust the tyre profile/sizes correctly to keep the correct rolling radius.

Thanks wantamM, Yes, I do love that wheel design and I feel there is just no need to change those wheels.

Thanks for Super Resin from Autoglym Dave, trip to Halfords tomorrow for some products.

Not sure about attacking the red leather myself though. I might take it to a professional valeter.

OK, a combination of warming the glue with hair dryer, fingernails, and a tad of lighter fluid on a lint-free cloth removed all. Let's keep it clean and tasteful from now on ;)

Stubby aerial now fitted; looks good. Loving this car, but already I'm starting to desperately fall in love with the new shape. I feel the latter with all those extra lines on the bonnet and the squared off 'aggressive' looking front end and metal roof are just neater looking.

I will have to test drive one at some point, in the meantime I'm going to continue loving this car for the next two years until I can afford £20,000 for a used new shape Z4.

Summer will be hear soon ;)

+1 on the e89, however in two years a 2010 6 pot will cost nowhere near £20k the way prices are going, so your patience will be rewarded... Unfortunately at the expense of many others on here :(

I used this product - the cleaner and the conditioner - it gives you the instruction on the website.
I originally bought it to do the interior on my Capri, its also done a Jeep and now the Zed and i have still got 2/3rd of a bottle left.

The conditioner just rubs in with no wiping off - just don't sit on it straight away or you smell of leather

I am sure other members will have their preferred products too.

Good Luck

Phil
