My new wheels!

Hey folks

Well, my Z went the other day and so I picked up this yesterday from Caerleon Cars in Newport.

First, the dealer service was OK. Helpful and straight and honest (well thus far, watch this space if anything goes wrong.) The car has done 55k and mechanically is in great nick with regular servicing (every 15k) and no expense spared it would seem. Was in some BMW VIP club servicing thing.
On the other hand, a lot of superficial scratches and marks here and there on the leather interior and things like that. Looks like hedge scratches and the odd car park door ding. All in all though, worth the money we paid. Not quite a bargain but under list/glasses guide price.

Today, I gave her a proper clean. Six hours later and managed to do the front wings and the front doors. Got most of them out but still plenty to work on. Kind of a challenge :-) The leather has come up lovely she is now shiney shiney clean.

Not quite so much fun as the Z...no where near so much fun. However, oh my word she is comfy and I love the panoramic roof. Fuel economy isn't quite as good as I'd hoped, just over 55mpg on the motorway at 70mph (my civic diesel did over 60). In town though it's looking impressive at 40+mpg.

All in all, I'm happy. I'll still follow the forum to see what's going on, looking forward to Project Marmite and El Taco getting banned then coming back as El Burrito and getting banned again.

Take care all!

Wow lovely car there!

I've always liked the estates, just don't have a reason to have one yet! Maybe i should get a dog or something

Thanks guys.

Five days in and 370miles, we're really starting to get a feel for her. About 250 of that has been motorway and the rest in stop start traffic in town. Currently running at around 45mpg. I think that's OK tbh. Was doing about 55 on the motorway so doing about 40 in town (double the Z was doing). I was hoping for a little higher but maybe I was expecting too much.

Ride is lovely, well damped and comfy without being wallowy. The nav and phone connecting is so much better than in the Z too, people can actually hear me!

I'm still missing my baby though. A pan roof can't quite make up for a soft top, or 265bhp...

Great cars, my 2012 320d now has 48k on and since new it has averaged 50.3 mpg according to the on-board gauge without resets that's 60% distance and 40% town driving

Very nice really love the light interior too

The economy is impressive too I reckon...I must say I do appreciate a touring my old 5 series was a touring & I loved its practicality.
