Blimey you must have amazing core strength to do barefoot water skiing .Cant imagine doing that is any fun over here . I actually took my US medical qualifying exams when I came out of med school ,but was stupid enough not to follow it through .Now that qualification has lapsed Amd I don't have the appetite to get the books out again and start afresh . Plus I have old frail parents here .

You would be surprised how it's more to do with technique than strength ,though strengh helps ,there are folks with what you would can non fit bodies doing amazing things barefooting and slalom sking ,Barefoot skiing is a good laugh untill you do a face plant at 40mph ,you become vary aware very quickly ,I love it , but as usual because of shitty crap climate / country you have to dress for it , in winter or now a bare foot body suit basically a shortie with a lot more padding a wooly bear ,and a Hammond dry suit ,and of course your bare feet ,with very flat water ,you could easily learn using a mastercraft ,ski nautique or mallibu type boats basically you need a bloody powerful boat ,and a ski bar to learn ,try it you won't be disappointed ,ironically a recent multi world barefoot champ was ,like the slalom world champ a Brit , guy called Dave Small ,so despite all the s**t weather this crap country can thro at you ,these guys still managed to shine and be top of their game ,
It's a shame you cannot go back to your med studies ,and it's a shame I dont live in Florida :headbang:

I live in South/East Florida, just south of West Palm Beach and about an hour north of Miami.

We love Florida, been many times & all over too, not just Orlando.

I've noticed some ridiculously cheap trips to Florida recently, I think its to do with the dollar exchange rates which are pretty poor & not working in our favour, good for you guys though to visit the UK

Oh & it's not dreary in the UK all of the time, I live in the south which tends to get it's fair share of reasonable weather, if unpredictable.

Car looks a beauty BTW.

Well i'm sure i could easily pass the exam if i could be bothered -but it would mean i would have to re-learn all the trivial anatomy ,physiology , biochemistry ,embryology, pathology ,pharmacology , genetics ,ObGyn,surgery , pediatrics ,orthopedics ,etc etc ,which i forgot soon after i qualified in 1983 .My dad was right when he insisted i sit the exam as soon as i qualified when it was all fresh in my mind -in fact as i recall i got a not too shabby 93%- but then there was no negative marking for wrong answers which makes it easy to have an inspired guess .
I'm trying to persuade my middle boy who's in his penultimate year at Barts med school to do the US exam now for the same reason .Ive also managed to persuade my youngest boy to try and stay in US and get a job there after he graduates from GW in DC this May .
I just think the UK has little to offer young kids in the future in terms of employment prospects and quality of life .He doesn't want to come home which is def the right decision -but hell need to get a job to enable him to stay over there once his student visa expires .
The thing that i like about the US if that when young folk get on and make some decent money ,they usually get applauded for it -over here people are just usually jealous and want to beat you up for doing well .

I think the UK is on a precipice you are right to advise your kids to stay in the US over here we are the most overpopulated country in Europe thanks to Blair brown and co ,we are a magnet for imigrants and bogus asylum seekers ,and the ultra PC previous govt that force fed benefits down these people's throats , and their human rights act that puts the law abiding man in the street at a disadvantage to law breakers ,islamlic extremists illegal imigrants and spongers, who use it to take the P*** out of us and the human rights brigade go out of their way to help them do it ,I find it depressing to say the least,
I think I've said enough , sorry to hijack your topic Leoair ,youR E89 is stunning mate especially when it's in bright sunlight :fuelfire:

Again, thanks for the nice comments on the "Zed", it is a blast to drive with the top up or down. though as one of you mentioned now as it gets hotter and hotter here , drives of more than 30 minutes will be done with the top up and the AC roaring. Anyway, happy motoring!!

I hear the Brits on this site fancy driving in the cold with the top down heater and seat warmers on. so I guess its the opposite for the US members lol
