After 28 years of owning and loving VWs, this is what mid life crisis looks like. Previously loved 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive 35i with M Sport/Canyon Brown Package. It also has 19" V-Spoke wheels, 7-speed double clutch Tranny, parking sensors, and heated seats. This car is totally impractical but so much fun to drive. I am very happy with it. More pictures to come...

Hi and welcome. I know what you mean - I see a mid-life crisis when I look in the mirror when I''mi in the Zed! :D

Looks as though you get an interesting turnout at your meetings.

Enjoy :driving:

Looks great, we love our 7 speed dct and that 3l twin turbo engine setup.

Hope you enjoy it to the max.

Ours is a daily runner only car and with a 300 liter boot have no problems at all so far (2 years+)

I assume that's mineral white? Never seen canyon brown, just the special edition cohiba brown they did about 2 years ago......

Nice car!

If you ask me its a complement but, you look like jay leno  I love those wheels! Never seen them before. Also nobody else can call you jay leno because most of our members are in Europe and not American. :poke:

Very nice Leoair. The car looks lovely and those alloys set it apart from the others

I don't know if I look like Jay Leno, I don't have the chin and I certainly don't have the car collection, but thanks, I guess?!
Anyway here are a couple other pictures from he BMW CCA G2G.

Your Zed looks great , I envy your sunshine , ithe weather is completely crap over here in the UK it's always crap we get three -maybe at a push if your lucky four months where it's tolerable ,day in day out its as if the rain ,cold ,damp goes on forever I hate it here ,I find so drepressing and demoralising are you in California or Arizona my brother in law is in Phoenix ,Arizona , he's a petrol head too ,Porshe and a Noble that he takes on track days.

I am sure there are a lot of positives to living in the UK, but I understand about having constant dreary weather, it does get old. I live in South/East Florida, just south of West Palm Beach and about an hour north of Miami. Winter is wonderful here 60 to 70 F (15 to 20 C). The summer time gets pretty hot and humid over 90 F (32 C), but you get used to it. We don't have smog because the land is flat and there is usually a nice breeze, we do get a lot of sunshine which is nice. I do love it here.

Lovely Zed and great colour Leo -hope you enjoy it with the top down in the FL sunshine .
My colleagues in FL tell me that its usually too hot to enjoy a convertible in the summer and they prefer to drive with the air con on all the time .
Its not just the crap weather here ,its also the punitive tax on fuel -try filling your Zed at approx 2.5 times the cost of gas in FL -then there is the higher rate of income tax [40%+ ] and 20% VAT , punitive pension taxes -which makes living in this wretched country a total rip off IMHO . We also don't have the same tax breaks which you have over there .
I spend a lot of time lecturing physicians over in US and basically a dollar buys you what a pound will buy you overhere -and that applies to cars as well more or less .
I was actually in your neck of woods in March lecturing in West Palm Beech and Miami -as well as in NJ,CT,GA,IL,WA,AZ .
When I tell my US colleagues what i am earning over here -they find it absolutely laughable -and i'm a senior physician at the top end of the salary scale .
US folk say we are also very lucky to have the NHS which is free -but as they say there is no such thing as a free lunch -and turst me when i say we are paying it through the nose when you factor in the rip off taxes here .
Also i can tell that people in the US wouldn't stand the long waiting times which you have here for the NHS -they want seeing Now and they want seeing by the best person rather than some random . We need to move to a similar system in France where for most people there is a small copay for most procedures and medicines .
Hmm RANT over for the moment i guess ....sorry i'm just a s**t mood today

Oh yes and how could i forget road fund tax which is about 900 bucks a year for the privilege of driving a Zed on our shoddy poorly maintained roads .I tell you there would be an uprising in the US if people had to pay what we do over here to drive our cars .

Hi Leoair
My sport / hobby is slalom / barefoot waterskiing ,all the top pros train / live in Florida ,I've never been I'd love to ,a mate who I ski with is off to Florida in couple of weeks to train with a guy called Tom Asher brother of Will Asher I think a two time. World slalom champ He is part of the Hazelwood clan , ,so you see us poor sods in the UK have to put up with a lot of crap lousy weather to do our sport the weather wrecks every thing here cricket ,tennis ,holidays virtually every bank holiday is wet there are three facts of life here income tax ,death and perpetual lousy weather God I hate it , :fuelfire: ,they have even taken Top Gear away from us ,we're all doooomed ,(dads army quote)
I can handle the ultra Politically Correct bullshit our liberal left wing elitist twat leaders of all parties shove down our throats , but Christ all bloody almighty a reasonably long period of hot sunny rain free weather would be nice ,please, pretty please ,

What the mad professor who has also posted on this topic is saying is basically he thinks it's crap as well,

Blimey you must have amazing core strength to do barefoot water skiing .Cant imagine doing that is any fun over here . I actually took my US medical qualifying exams when I came out of med school ,but was stupid enough not to follow it through .Now that qualification has lapsed Amd I don't have the appetite to get the books out again and start afresh . Plus I have old frail parents here .
