My new toy

I have been looking for a replacement for my old mpv for some time and finally decided on a landrover discovery. Few pics attached, its not the quickest thing in the world, but it has an auto box and is sooooo comfortable. Its got a upgraded sound system which is amazing, got loads of toys and air suspension. Perfect for all these wet snowy days where the Z cannot get off the drive. As much as i love my M sometimes you want a comfy day.

The Z looks like a toy car next to it

Welcome to the world of four wheeling. Now if it was a '77 Landcruiser I'd argue about the "comfy" part but it looks like the Husky is quite happy with your choice. :D :D

looks cool, im not into 4x4's really, but i like the disco, especially yours in black. I know what you mean about driving something comfy, it never appealed to me before i got the z4, i drove my sister in laws X3 for a week whilst she was on holiday, and although i dont rate it, it was nice to just jump into a vehicle that was comfy without having to dodge the potholes on the way home, especially when you have had a naff day in the office.

Did the dog come with the car ?

Lovely dog! :D A friend of mine has been buying Disco's for years - he loves them. Not sure what shade of black he has, but in direct sunlight it has a hint of brown about it.

Have to admit i am really impressed with it, more than i thought i would be. This one is java black - the window tints are really dark, but great for security, not sure how they will stand up to all the dog slobber  If the dog came with it i would take it back, love him to death, but he is a right furry pain

It is 0 - 60 in 11secs, which for a 3tonne car is ok and when the turbo kicks in the motorway it is not bad, picks up quite well, looking at a remap which will add about 50 bhp, hoping to test drive one of the disco forum members which has been remapped to see if it is worth it, quite cheap to do as well. Do not want to turn it into a bling mobile as i want to take it off road, but just missing that extra bits of umphh, but that is probably because i am spoiled with the M.

One of my good mates had a Disco 3, chipped as you are considering. Always does that to his Landies. Made an excellent tow car for a near 2 tonne Jeep and was all round very capable bit of kit. Very refined compared to the prior versions, but still cuts it in the dirt.

Just changed it to the latest top of the range Rangie, but that's a different league again.

Don't worry about nose prints and lick marks in a Range Rover, my Audi A6 and both my XC70's survived just fine with my collection of Golden Retrievers. RR's don't look right without a dog or a gun or two rolling around in them. :D

Just think of it as extra window tinting. :D

Got blown away by a RR sport and i was in the M. I was napping a bit and did not except him to go off so quick, it was wet and i was just going sideways, he just stuck the power down, no spin and left me standing, impressive cars. i would have had him in the dry  The Range rover is not quite big enough in the back for the dog and all the other gear, otherwise i would have considered one. Maybe in the future when i get too old for the Z. Do you know which company he uses for his rechipping?
