My new Sports steering wheel brought from Maxman! :)

Jonny essex,

Did you get the covers for the spokes too ? Your silver ones probably won't fit... Though I don't know for sure.

You will be well impressed with how the M sports wheel feels compared to your old one once it is fitted :)

Agree as I would never go back. If I ever own another BMW, you can bet that's also the first mod I would be making.

Nice one

I did the same mod to my old 3.0 and loved it! That and the M seats were the biggest difference to the driving experience.

Easy as you go with the dremel on the bottom spoke. Put some masking tape across to get the straight edge reference. Thin it out rather than trim, then thin. If that makes sense!

Edit: Trim to a point just shy of where you want, then thin. You'll find when your thining to as thin as poss you'll find it difficult to keep the edge really straight. Give yourself some breathing space. I'll see if i can dig out a pic of mine

^ The stitching is not the only difference between the M wheels: black stitching has a softer feel leather than the three color stitching M wheels.

Found out when I traded the previous Z with the three colored stitching for the current one with the black stitched wheel.

Both the seller and myself were surprised about the different feel ...
