My new motor (lack of Z4 content!)

So, after 4.5yrs of enjoyable Z motoring, and 2y 4months of wonderful Z4MC days, you may know I recently sold my beloved car. Wanted to get something cheaper to run, and be a bit more practical. I toyed with a few ideas but eventually bought an X5, and picked it up yesterday. Its an 06 (9 March, so qualifies for £215 car tax), and is very well specced up. Loving it up to know - but already scraped a wing mirror going in the garage earlier (this after three clear goes into it with no problem since yesterday!). Oh well.

3.0d Sport Auto
Toldeo Blue
Black nappa leather
CD Changer (now replaced with my Intravee Ipod adapter)
Comms Pack & Assist (navigation, bluetooth, digital TV)
Folding Mirrors
Premium Package (panoramic sunroof, xenons and other stuff)
Smoke Grey Poplar Wood trim

So, its not as economic a car as I should have got, but will do better than the Z4MC. Its actually a very nice motor to drive. Just feels weird picking up a used car after 12 years of new ones. Got a very good deal though from a BMW dealer, so very happy.

I'll still hang around on here as I like the forum!

Lovely colour :-)

Be interesting to hear how economical it is for you - in town vs open road driving.

Driving home yesterday it was showing 30-31.

Driving around Sheffield today its been showing 18-21!! :o

Off on a 220 mile round trip tomorrow so be interested to see how it does. It cost me 55 quid to top up this morning - had half a tank in already, and I filled it. Crikey!

Looks like a good example :D

Slightly higher driving position than you're used to though :D
I feel like I could touch the bloody moon!

Its a massive difference - but have to say, at my age, the back was beginning to go getting in the Z! :D Although I think I need a ladder to get in this (I'm only 5' 6"). Had a 4x4 (frontera) in 1997, but that wasn't as high as this either. Already got that 'I'm bigger than you' thing going on on the roads. Ha ha (nah not really)

LOL! Diesels are relatively crap around town. On our street there are two new style X5s - one is a 4.8is and the other a 3.0D. They get similar mpg due to the usage (school run).

My Dad has an X5 and they are great cars

It looks great and i'm sure it will suit your needs.

Oh - and you know you have to press the roof open button again to get it fully open. You only have it half open now ...

Wow sunroof must be massive then, I like. Looks very nice indeed, should soften the blow of losing the ///M.

Thanks all.

Yeah, only half opened it for the pic, thought it looked better, I'm a perfectionist

Definitely mate - oddly I've not missed the ///M at all. Honestly thought I would. Weird. The sunroof is fantastic - absolutely huge!

Nah, it doesn't ... that is why I kept both :poke:
:D

Would love both - ya lucky swine! Mind you, would have to be a real ///M (coupe....) :poke: (back atcha!)
