Ive decided to keep my Z and spend a bit on getting hewr ready for the summer driving,

So ive done the cdv and the stubby, ive also done the interior led's and plate led's as well as uprated the rear springs aswell as the tappets.

ive boooked the car in for a interior leather treatment to treat the marks on the bolster and re dye, ive also got her booked in for the rear screen and rear quarter window tints and booke her in to have a slight mark in the bumper blended in.

The next is CSL reps (19") and to ditch the run flats.

I sold an item on ebay and a guy turned up in a new 3 series with led door handle lights. it looks easy to do so gonna do this and puddle lights as well as maybe lowering. the car has already had a full detail and i cant wait for the finished look.

I cant wait to get her all scrubbed up and will post pics of the progress.

Stay tuned

Also what do people think of brembo black calliper covers ?

Could look cheapbut could look nice behind the CSl's ?

Slate me and hate me or try it ? for £40 is it worth a pop ?

don't do the CSL reps mate - just put non RF's on those MV2's they look sweet on a coupe.

not sure on the brembo covers - could look ok I guess (better than the tiddly embarrasing looking things we actually have !! ). Maybe in black so the aren't too noticeable? Would like to see some on.

Don't do it

I like your wheels what about getting them powder coated a different colour?

My wheels are nice but need a refurb ? Ive never seen CSL reps on silver coupe. Was even thinking of the ones that are on the new series the 5 spoke ones. Some people love CSL's but others hate em ? I may even try the brembo's as no was has done it. Im sure i could sell them on again pre cut ready for a Z4.

When you say powder coat do you mean dark or black alloys. Ive never really been a fan of black alloys, they can look a bit chavvy / The only ones to pull it off are audi on there black editions and of course bentley if you can afford one.

?

Careful, apart from the Dension, mine was standard until I decided to keep it

With Wondermike, the calliper covers  If nothing else you'd need more manly disks and they can complete the look on their own. I think it's like putting M badges on a non-M car. IMO. Why pretend?

Also agree on the wheels, dark anthracite with a silver car is a good look 8) If you go for those though I'd be inclined to get black grill slats too, tie them in properly. Actually, use the money from the new wheels for a refurb of the old ones and maybe some aero skirts?

Whatever you do, you've got a great canvas and look forward to the results.

Sorry forgot to add ive sprayed the grills gloss black and laquered them with Upol. I was very proud with the results. So are you saying not a good idea on the CSl's ?

Like i said never been a fan of the darker alloys unless you can show me pics to sway me ?

Agree on the brembo covers, no point in fakes, they look terrible and why would you want a piece of cheap plastic that will melt or snap off and bugger up something in the wheels?

Change the wheels though, maybe CSL's (but always seem odd on non M's, what about 108's - best looking Z4 wheel IMO

I think we were posting at the same time. In response to the above, I've had mine done. A few people I spoke to before getting them done said not to do it, wouldn't look good. Now they're on the car, nothing but love - even from the ardent critics. One friend took a little while to come round, but now really likes them.

Have a look for yourself, pics on this link... Aero kit + new springs = lots of pics

EDIT: I particularly like these (before the car was lowered)...

But yes, not going to be to everyone's liking.

I had two sets done on my SLK, they always look great with silver. My ///M is blue otherwise I would be doing it again.

I would change the wheels
For me that style of wheel dates the coupe and are a bit too 'pretty'

Not sure that they would look great in a dark finish either because of above.
Just my opinion of course :)

As Mike said Brembo covers always seems to me like putting an M badge on a car. I'd be so enmarrassed if someone pointed out they were fake brakes. Lol

More to the point don't they hinder brake cooling by enclosing the hot caliper? Surely this would actually give you worse brakes than standard!!

CSL's ordered ! From M style ! I wne tfor silver in the end. Arrive wednesday, no tyres though as no where has stock of falken 452's. Poor old japan has seem to cause a hold up in the manufacture. :headbang:
