My new ///M Some pics....

Mmmm, as has been said loads already, lovely colour combo. This has got me swaying back towards a Z4MR as a replacement for my Z4MC 8)

Well i'll put the story behind the pictures now i have time :)

I still have my old Z, its sitting in my parents garage and will be for a few weeks as im out the country for a while so theres no point trying to sell it yet.
The interior is indeed out of my old car and suits this colour like bangers suits mash. Originally it was all black.

I asked the missus what she thought and she said 'the cream will look more 80's and w#nkerish' - do it.
So that was choice made and i think it looks amazing :D 8)

It wasnt easy finding the right car, a lot were tatty on the inside as the idiots at BMW thought these naff interior plastic were a good idea :x . Also the greys and silvers just werent doing anything for me. I saw a couple of saphire blacks which were nice but my OCD could not handle seeing all the swirls and chips. I could feel the cold sweats looking at them and thats before i had even bought it.

Then i went to see an interlagos blue and when he pulled back the dust sheet it looked incredible. Ive looked at pics of interlagos a million times and thought it looked cr#p. I still do. It doesnt seem to photograph that well unless the lights right. The slight purple though (i hate purple :? ) makes it seem regal and money'ish and the deepness is superb 8)

That car wasnt 'the one' but that settled it, i was on the lookout for an interlagos.

Colour and BMW's, well Mercs too are not seen too much together. I saw a new 3 series in red the other day and it really shone from the pack, a real statement. My last 4 cars have been either silver, black or grey so i HAD to have a car in a colour!

Now, on to ownership (and what Peddy is refering to :D )

With the addition of a VW Polo in the stables it seemed a good time to buy an even more unpracticle choice. Where i live in zone 4 north London having the M as your only car would drive anyone bonkers. Im not going to stir up old threads (oooooogod :D ) but its not an everyday car for commuting. Unless of course you have the rare luxury of a commute along scenic b roads. I REALLY dont  .

So im now driving the Polo to Tescos, work and every other mundane trip and its fantastic. Very fit for this purpose. The M is my weekend special occasion toy. And as such all is well in my world :) .

The M is very tiresome in traffic and does not have the abilty to dart in to spaces or nip away from lights quickly that built up traffic demands. Its like taking an elephant to a tea party.
It wants space to gallop, stretch its legs etc.

My 3.0 was MUCH better as an all rounder having enough poke to enjoy a ragging and also the lighter controls and easier to handle slow carachteristics of a more urban situ. Not to mention miles better MPG! If it wasnt for the two car setup i have now the 3.0 would be the best choice hands down.

The soundtrack is taking some getting used to, very rough in comparisson to my old car but it is growing on me. 4th gear is superb, reminds me of some of my old turbo charged cars. That 'run-away train' feeling :D Brilliant! Just when you thought the power and numbers wouldnt keep coming it just relentlessly keeps going.

Its very near perfect but could do with a detail, that will come in time. The other thing is that the roof comes down with a bit of a thump when your closing it. Its certainly not alone in this as ALL the other cars i looked at did this. This has left me wondering if my old car was just special in its lovely soft caressing touch-the-top-of-the-windscreen... and then lock mechanism.
Im guessing like me before i went looking none of you have compared your roof closing to others roofs closing.

So, its wonderful, very quick and more importantly feels special. Its getting LOTS more looks than my old grey car

So you have 2 Z's now... thats just greedy :poke:

But looks awesome, i agree the light interior really suits it, much more so then boring black.

As its a weekend play thing you not tempted by some serious engine mods... ESS maybe

Cheers Wondermike - I am in love with her interlagosness.

The amount of looks compared to my grey car is of the scale, particularly from small boys - if you were a peado this would be top of the list car choice :? :D

its a manual & the roof is missing but its a stunner  the interior /ext /wheels just looks so right for the car .
top job mate :happyclap:
