pioneer 7500BT
Vibe slick 6x9
vibe mono amp
sony 480 amp
vibe wiring
juice capacitor
JBL 1000 x 2 sub

6x9 behind seats inspired by richard , have to keep the bass low from amp as it gives a rattle shattering sound , i think my sound deadening sheets aren't good enough
this could be a pain in the a£^ if you don't have the right tools to do it !

in total it sounds really good and impressing . just changing the head unit did wonders
i might have to make a better cover board again to cover the wiring and amps as this one looks messy :headbang:

i want to take out the plastic tray but i cant get it out ? i read the diy but still dont get it :(

everything just needs a good clean now ! :P

to remove the parcel shelf you need to ......

first of all there should be 4 clips (or possibly 6) holding the tray in place to the height adjusters either side.

they look like this...

heres where they sit, a pic with them in and with them out (Red shows where the main 2 are each side, the green shows where a 3rd can b added)

you can unclip the 2 (1 either side) rear clips from inside the boot, notice that u have to squeeze the underside of the clips to pop them out, squeeze where the red arrow point...

heres where on the shelf...

the furthest 2 (1 either side) from you if your working in the boot are a bit more awkward to get to so you might want to climb in the front and lean over from the front and then prize them up from the top (using something flat and plastic so you don't damage anything)

once all 4 (or 6) clips are out the whole tray needs to be slid upwards as there is a locator at the back middle of the shelf, notice the notch where the red arrow points....

it locates in this slot at the back of your boot space....

and there you go, you can now remove your boot tray

I tried subs in the boot but couldn't find and easy way to secure them as the floor carpet at the back seems to come up quite easily. Also the sound wasn't great as no clear way for the bass to filter into the cabin.

2 weeks after install I uninstalled. Waste of a day and £200 down the drain.

Hope yours works out better

Dan

thanks for the replies guys

ill try to remove the tray tomorrow , appreciate it

i know theres a lot of dust as i did some wood work ,
but im going to cover it with filler and paint it gloss black for the amp rack + got a new JBL amp  for the subs

it doesnt sound that bad tbh , i could be better if it was another car , i had a single woofer earlier which i could barely hear , but this ones to F$$£^£! loud lol

cap is there just for the sake of it

Yup cap is pointless and not needed. I removed the shelf as it rattled to much also. The boot on the roadster is part of the cab only seperated by the parcel shelf so easy to fill the car with bass. The z4 takes larger 6.5" components also unlike a lot of BMW's, I'd also loose the 6x9's, they'll add nothing to the front sound stage and are not needed when a dedicated subwoofer is used.

Seems to be more of a loud build than sq/sql.

Very interest to hear the sub bass stage though in person!

Yeah my shelf rattled like mad but didn't want to remove it as you can see through to the boot when the roof is up.
