So, picked this up a few days ago, i have tired of waiting for the right 30i to turn up and just dont have the patience to sit and wait without a toy car, so for now its a 23i to play with from the bottom end of my budget and i can chill, keep stashing some cash and let the email alerts let me know if something perfect turns up and I can flip it :D

Its my perfect colour/interior combo of deep sea blue with the pure design white extended leather and alcantara and it just makes the cabin a fabulous place to be :) The 294 wheels I really like too and they're pretty much unmarked, Its got a great comprehensive service history and has obviously been well looked after

Spec wise it's fairly sparse but its got xenons, extended lighting, extended leather, power fold mirrors, bluetooth telephone, usb and aux music prep, mfsw, wind deflector and of couse the all important heated leather m sport seats, enough to keep me happy.

In the last few days I have
removed the run flats for goodyear f1 asymmetric 5's.. massive improvement
fitted a zhp.. big improvement on the notchy gear change
new exhaust tips.. old ones were filthy but i will try to revive them at some point
debadged
fitted Tunai Firefly usb bluetooth module for bluetooth audio
fitted and coded a new battery

At the weekend I will have the cdv deleted and a quantum remap..yes i am aware there's no huge gain to be had but I'll take a little extra torque in the midrange if its available.. money back guarantee so nowt to lose, if it aint there Ill have my money back thank you very much

Still to do
Full machine polish and detail
New salmon relays
new wheel centre badges
Royals steering wheel.. maybe
Get out and enjoy :driving:

Enough drivel.. pics

How are you finding the driving experience compared to your e85, comfort/motive power?

Well I've moved from an auto into a manual so I am enjoying that at the minute out on the open road, not sure how I'll feel when i do the odd commute as I do have heavy traffic in the morning.. we'll see.
Much more refined drive roof up and not nearly as many rattles and creaks and thats on the runflats, I haven't done any real mileage on the new tyres yet but what I did felt better again, se suspension too so its much more comfortable on our shitty roads.
Obviously speed wise it's a little slower than the 3.0si but you can still make decent progress if you keep it singing and it gets you involved in the drive a bit more having to work it..it revs pretty well once you get her up the top end, be interesting to see what the quantum map brings.
For now Im very pleased and the hard top means Im less likely to sorn through winter and get a bit more use out of her.
I plan to test drive all models over the coming year and see where i will lay my hat, interested to try a 28i and see what a full fat 4 cyl turbo can bring and then i will know I can pick up any of them and have them mapped although I am starting to think of a 35i as a long termer if i can find a well looked after model thats had the main faults addressed

Looks really nice..love that interior..if you are really bothered you could add the other bits with help here..

I now see why you were asking some of your questions..

Good to hear about the Asym 5 tyres. just bought a set for next summer too!

Enjoy !

Like the colour combo  I bought some wheel centres off eBay £9.50.They are stamped on the back ,made in Italy. The sellar was candccarparts. They look brilliant for the money.
I haven't bothered doing the CDV on mine as it smoother on take off than my old 3.0 which I did remove the CDV .
I will be interested on your view of the Quantam map,are you getting it done local?

Lovely colour combo

Be interested to see how you find the remap.

I’m in a similarish situation. Slight change in circumstances means I’m in a position to get into a late low mileage 30i or possibly a slightly earlier 35i but I’ve concerns over ongoing maintenance with the 35i.

I’m going to try what you’ve said and try the different models and decide from there but options to test drive are very limited. I don’t think there’s a 30i within 200 miles of me. 35i at least that distance away, if not further.

My 23i is perfectly good and I’m in no rush to change but the ability of moving up In power and newer means it’ll happen at some point.

Enjoy yours :driving:

Yes Alan, just up in Ruthin  theres a couple of places in Wrexham as well though, Ruthin place was the only one that replied to my emails so they get the job

Tasty looking car Steve, blue really suits the E89. I really like those wheels, somehow look bigger than 18’s, but a bitch to clean I’ll imagine. :driving:

That looks a good one. Seems you thought on what I and others suggested. Get one now and keep looking for your ideal one.
Hope this one brings you lots of enjoyment. Who knows, it may stay!
