Nice choice of colour, same as mine but I have the black interior. The red does look nice though.

Just watch out for stones if you have the M Sport brakes. I have documented this in another post.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new car.

Happy motoring :driving:

Nice to see you chose the best colour too lol
I’ve added the section from the app that mentions the problem :)

Thanks for sharing. Never noticed that in the manual. Must have missed it. Need to have another look.

It’s in the faq section of the online Drivers Guide app :)

This kinda goes against your dealer telling you that BMW hadn't had it brought to their attention before

BMW HQ say that they have not had any other M Sport brakes complaints regarding the Z4 G29 but I am hearing that this has been a common problem on the M2, M3 and M4 for years. The brakes on all of these models are similar in design. :headbang:

Here’s a photo of my car which is very similar to yours Kim.
Happy motoring :driving:

Haha. No, I had a 3 series with cream leather in 2002. It looked absolutely fabulous when it was new but a real nightmare to keep clean. Denim jeans and leather belts were the worst culprits. After that I have always played it “safe”.
Hope you are enjoying your new car. :driving:

Hi Kimz - I am looking at the same colour but struggling to see a car in the colour. Would you say it is bright or more subtle - its hard to tell from all the phots. Thanx

Hi Dougie,
My e89 was white with the red leather, and that red was a darker almost blood red I would say?
This red is more red/orange, it’s very bright. I love it but understand it’s not everybody’s thing 🙂

Just realised you mean the misano blue? It’s bright with a pearlescent glow in the sun. A little like Audi’s used to be?

Where are you, I know of a car in Coopers Chelmsford?

I took a demonstrator M40i out last Friday and got the stone in the brakes - it took a good bit of to and fro to dislodge it

Sorry to hear that Ronk. Sounds horrendous when it happens but you were fortunate it was the demonstrator car and not your own car. I’m trying to get BMW to do something about it but other owners need to complain to their dealer before they will consider fixing the problem. :headbang:

I did make them aware of the problem when I returned the car and that I had heard of others of this model suffering this problem.

Thanks for taking the trouble to report this to your dealer

If nobody complains nothing gets done.
They did say that they were going to inspect the brake assy of the demonstrator I returned.

I hope they do!
