Just thought i would post a photo of my new car(will post a better one later).

I need some help should these seals be replaced?
I think they may let water in. I spoke to the dealer i purchased the car from on monday (600 miles from where i live) and they asked me to take the car to my local bmw dealership to get them to look at the seals and see if they need replaced, so i drove 65 miles to be told that they don't know if they should look like this.
So if my seals are damaged could you help me by posting some photos of your door seals, so i can show them to my local bmw garage.

p.s dealer i purchased car from said they would pay for the repair if it needs doing.

Photo's of drivers door.

Photo's of the passenger door/ window seal

Thanks for all your help!

It's not normal for a new car, but I've seen a few with damage to these (mine included). Most of the time the end is lifting up and you just glue it back down.

The amount shown shouldn't let any water in (mine hasn't), and they're not cheap to replace, so I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't get them replaced for free - after all you should have spotted this when you inspected the car.

They do look a bit worn, but as said, it happens. What are the dots up the side of the glass though ? Never seen that before :?

Nice colour :D

Wasn't that the one JimmyBell was lusting over...?

Must be a coupe thing that I've never noticed - they're not on the roadster.

Hello, just thought i would post a quick update.

I have spoken to Chris Ratcliffe sales manager at BMW Maidenhead about the seals and a broken sunglass holder, they are willing to pay for the seals and the holder to be replaced, he also said i should contact him if i have any more problems. Car is going to Calterdon BMW Inverness next week for the repairs, I've spoken to Brian Bailey at Calterdon and he is a good guy!

Yes you might pay more money buying a car from BMW dealers, but i'm a happy boy!(i've dealt with jaguar, Mercedes and other premium brand car dealers in the the past and the service has never been to this level).

So have a great weekend and let me know about the next meet in Scotland.

Pericles :D

Always nice to hear good things about a dealer for once

I think there is a Scottish meet being planned in June - have a look in the Meets section.
