After three months of waiting my new z4 arrived last week!
3.5is deep see blue, White interior, 19" alloys, sat nav, voice, heated seats and steering, comfort access, idrive, sat nav, USB connect.
Week one: 697 miles on the clock - I have owned 318ci, 535d touring, 997 c2s, 997 turbo, and most recently min cooper, in the past 10 years, and my wife has a x5 3.0sd. After placing the order read many articles criticising the cars chassis, hard suspension poor handling, over shadowed by porsche......; naturally I had become a ta worried if I had made a big mistake - but, I have to say this is the best car I have ever owned, absolutely love it , only taken it unto 3000 rpm as of yet, but the car is super smooth, has excellent feel and handling, even in the snow over the past two days, and the exhaust note is quality, similar rumble to the flat six from the Porsche.

I loved the porsches, but whilst the engine sound, kudos, handling were great, I was disappointed by the quality of the interior in both of them, based on what they cost to buy - the z4 - is first class inside, all the comforts that doing the miles I do pass by very quickly. IN the porsches I used to feel battered after a 100 mile trip to london; yesterday I covered over 300 miles, and felt great when I landed home.

Early niggles, small tank and two seats in back would be handy ;-), but I guess I knew both of those things when I bought it.

I would strongly advise anyone who is considering a cayman or hosted to give the z a blast first.

Oh, forgot to mention the folding roof - damn that's smart too!

Nice one mate, sounds fantastic and glad you`re so pleased with it. 8)

Now you just know what I`m going to say next............. PICS PLEASE !!!

Congratulations, I love mine too, cannot think of another car that I would rather drive everyday and I do over 500 miles per week

I have the same car and feel the same way about it...not sure about the comfort but my other daily ride is a Range Rover so that's maybe why...

Love the interior and the engine note...

Wow, better than a 997 turbo?? A car in a completely different price bracket, high praise indeed!!

I drove one of similiar spec. That has to be the loudest car BMW has sold in recent years especially during overboost. I agree with your points on how well the interior is put together. It's a great car all around. Would have liked to tried in a conventional manual but it was still a blast.

Hi and welcome :)

I love the alloys on the photo shown, shame the only come on 35is,as they very similar to the 108's but in one piece

As i understand it, the current Z4 is aimed at the Merc' SLK market not the Porsche.......so a cruiser not a bruiser. I am happy with the idea that it is not challenging Porsche as a "drivers" car. It is a lovely sports cruiser, comfy and can be hustled along quite nicely when i take a fancy to.

White Interior? What were you thinking? Hairdre....

Just messing...lol

Personally I'm not keen on the new z4, it just doesn't click for me. Might change my mind if I ever drive one. Prefer the older Z4, smaller and more raw.

"More Raw"...................yeah, you are right. Old Z4 is A very visceral car and closer to the Porsche in terms of abilities I believe. I loved my sterling grey 3.0l, like a go kart.....but I got fed up pissing blood after long bone rattling journeys.
