My new 07 Si Sport 3L - Blue & white

Evening ladies and gents,

Just wish to inform that I'm officially part of the crew! Last Sunday money and keys switched hands.

Just wish to thank everyone for your help with my various questions. In particular much appreciation going to @Marlon. I bombarded him with many questions, so big thanks to him. Many wise words were spoken!

Info as far as I know:
- White heated, electric seats. I think they are sports ones but not sure.
- no 6 cd player but has standard cd player. Sound is a little average... but who cares, the straight 6 is all I want to hear!
- electric mirrors
- Cruise control
- still run flat tires
- monster miles at 118k but it was a good price so can't complain
- parking assist beeping thing. Not been much use recently but who knows what the future holds!
- anti dazzle mirror (great feature)
- I think M steering wheel as more chunky than others I have tried. Very nice.
- Auto wipers/ lights
- Xeon lights


Overall thoughts:
So I have tried a 2L, 3L SE, 3L and this one. I have to say all were great. I really mean that, but this one really feels much more chunky somehow. I think maybe the engine and the steering feel more solid. The brakes are on another level. Perhaps they have sports breaks? Not sure, but either way they feel way more responsive than others I have tried.

Only downside so far is the steering being so jerky. I think this maybe due to the run flat tires. I say this as it seems to jump around the country roads quite a bit. It swerves from one side to another according to small variations in pitch of the road.... I think I might look into tire changes as next major change.

At first, I wanted grey with black alloys. However this one came on the market at a good price so went with it.... I'm really glad I did as the colour combo is really growing on me.

So to top it off, I have taken a few photos. It's been mixed weather here. That's why I haven't posted sooner... but anyhoo, here are more than enough pics for you to get the idea.... as you can probably guess I'm loving the blue with the cloud reflections. Hopefully a sign of good weather to come!

Nice , was up on PH for a while & even on 118k i agree it was a cheap way into 3.0 Si ownership :wink:
The trim is champagne & is indeed sport , the paint Montego blue looks great against it , i think another newbie joined at the weekend with same combo

Hey Mr Wilks... Yeah I was wondering about that... Does SI simply mean sport? Or can you get non sport SI 3L versions?

Yeah high mileage, but I'm only going to be using it for 'drives' rather than commuting so I shouldn't get wild mileage on top.... I've heard the mileage was from motorway driving so hopefully that's less stress on other components.

You can indeed get Se Si which ride on softer suspension slightly higher & often on 17inch alloys .
Different coloured headlining generally dictates which if at some point the ride & alloys get changed

No windbreaker in position bewtween headrests i notice :? if not in boot look to pick one up along the way

Lovely colour combination you have there, and I like the 18 inch 135M wheels (but then I would do, I've got them too)!

I think in roadsters they used the 2.5 engine in 2 states of tune, standard and uprated as an Si, but all the 3.0s are Si models AFAIK (and Coupes only come as 3.0s anyway).

As standard SEs don't have Sport seats and come with standard suspension and standard steering wheel, whereas Sport models have Sport seats, Sport suspension (stiffer and lower) and M-Sport steering wheel plus bigger wheels (18inch instead of 17 inch on Coupes).

Enjoy - timing is good with the weather we have had today!

Yes they are different the 3.0si has bigger front brakes than the pre facelift 3.0i (325mm instead of 300mm) If I remember correctly the pre facelift 3.0 has the same as the 2.5si which are bigger than the other 2.5 variants. 2.0 I believe have the same as ordinary 2.5 I think.
So all in all I dont think your imagining it!

Roof lining same for both in the roadster (anthracite) , only the coupe get anthracite as std on the Sport model and a lighter colour for SE trim.

noticed that you had the supports for the windbreak between the seats, might be with looking at the underside of the boot lid it maybe there ( mine was and I didn't notice it )

Haha I was speaking with Marlon about this a second ago... I spent about 20 mins trying to find the bloody thing... I was looking where the toggles are for the cloth roof. I then spotted the dam thing ON the boot... really happy. Gonna give that a go tomorrow
