He's the same height as Mrs B now, well able to reach everything - I wish I had access to some private land with big spaces as I'd love to give him a go. Be scary, but fun

Bing, motorsport-events.com run reasonably priced and safe track days mainly on airfields. At some they run a "junior drive" tuition programme for 12 to 16 year olds. Essentially they'll teach wee Bing the principles of driving in your car in a huge empty space on the airfield. I don't think you have to take part in the track day if you don't want risk your car. Might be worth a look...
