Overall satisfied

Quoted an agreed price of £349.40 but when i dropped off my car this morning mentioned North Oxford BMW quoted me £335. They instantly match despite the agreed quote.
Got constant phone calls through the day re progress which would have been appreciated if i wasn't trying to sleep having just worked nights.
Gave me both a lift from the garage and collecting the car which saved me getting a taxi.
The valet was pretty good too.

Only slightly concerning thing was they tried to charge me 2 additional things:
1) New number plate at £25 as mine had a stone chip. ummm....no thanks
2) The spring guards/cover was slightly cracked. The suspension was absolutely fine but the cover was damaged, they said it needed to be changed and it would cost £130 as you need to take out the springs first....They said it was likely to be impact damage from underneath but the car had a comprehensive independent inspection only 2 months ago and i have definitely no clattered the underside since....i asked if i could see it jack up and after a brief discussion between the customer adviser and the mechanic they informed me there was not a lot to see and that maybe it was worth just monitoring the situation/condition rather replacing it now.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

It does seem to be individual locations that try it on. I have only good things to say about Dick Lovett Swindon but have heard moans about their Bristol branch.

Like everything else in the service industry, it's the staff that make or break the experience.

Prices seem to vary from stealer to stealer just been quoted...

Cooper Durham £289 inspection 1 £65 brake fluid change...

Lloyds Newcastle £294 and £56...

Coopers have been trying to contact me hopefully with a better price fingers crossed.... Car getting sorted this week...

It would cost you more than £4 to go to Newcastle ! :D

Mines booked in with Newport Synter BMW (South Wales) for INSPECTION 1 they are giving me a car for the day also.

All in £260.....

just bought a car for my daughter off a relative aunt of mine, 2001 meganne scenic, low miles and very very clean, 1 owner with 24500 miles, wacks of service history, looking through it the local supplying renault dealer has been taking loads of money off her to service and maintain this car over the years , it is virtually unmarked inside and out, But under the bonnet is an absolute disgrace, there has been plenty of work done under there, all new belts ,hoses, as well as a cam belt change which i am pretty sure wasnt due at this mileage, my point is, where is their pride in their work, all it takes is a five minute wipe around and clean the underside of the bonnet inner wings etc and it would have stayed as good as the rest of the car. if you took the car to a spanner happy little grease monkey in some back st somewhere then you might expect this sort of thing, but from a main dealer? i think it is terrible service. my coupe's engine compartment is mint enough to eat your dinner off as i'm sure are most of you guys on here.if when my car goes for any servicing or repairs i expect to have it returned exactly as it went in and will be taking issue most strenously if it isnt, its all about respect surely, or am i missing something :headbang:

I will be taking pictures of the car with time stamps before it goes in and won't drive it away without looking around the car myself. Any problems and they can keep it till "said issues" are sorted!

I will redline their courtesy car also... Every gear.... When cold.....

You got a free screw driver! that might come in handy....
Nothing quite handles as well as a courtesy/hire car does it...

John Clark BMW in Dundee do that too.... always "find" things that are wrong with your car. They quoted me for new discs and pads at my last visit (allegedly knackered), the car went on to pass its MOT the week after

I'm amazed the bonnet went down properly with that under it.
