My hardtop smells. Help!

Hi, i'm needing some help here.

With all this talk of hardtops on here lately I picked up a used one from ebay, all nice and shiny with the cover and all the tools. Fits a treat, dead quiet and I think it looks great.

All is not good though because on the drive home from collecting it I realised it smells worse than a wet dog. I'm sure this is from the previous owners smoking, something that didn't occur to me to ask before buying. Nothing will touch this pong from basic fabreze to wet scrubbing with hood cleaner.

Anyone got any ideas? People are starting to ask questions and i'm running out of excuses. It's not my feet or any other bit of me that's stinking, honest! :oops:

I think the next step is to remove the roof lining and hose it down, i'm worried the rear screen may have to come out though. Anyone dismantled a hardtop before?

I know I don't need the hardtop over the summer but it's starting to make the garage smell too.....

Perhaps a proffesional cleaning company could do something with it,

Did you by chance, buy it off a guy in Birmingham?
 
Just replace the liner altogether. You don't need to remove the rear window in order to take out the liner. It's a easy 10 minute job.
