My front window has millions of tiny rock chips

After driving a car for couple months on my 2013 z4, I have noticed that I got millions of very tiny rock chips on my front window. I can only think of replacing the whole window but is there any trick on how to make the window clear again?

Waste of time trying to polish that many, new screen is your best option, make sure it's genuine OEM if you have rain sensing wipers, as they don't like aftermarket screens..

When I bought my 07' Zed Coupe, the windshield was full of pits, scratches and other surface defects. Driving at night was a royal pain. Had to get a new windshield. Best money I spent on the car so far. For me, it was about $400, but driving at night is so much better.

Mine might experience a large stone this year

It's amazing how that can happen at just the right time

When you do it, definitely insist on the replacement rubber trim being OEM, as the pattern parts are shite. If you can get an OEM windscreen on the insurance too then that is perfect, but I dont think it's easy to swing.

When you've finished with the large stone can I have it please? I need it for the same purpose. :P

Instead of a large stone, try removing the wiper blade and let the spring loaded arm hit the screen, a bit more subtle than a large stone.

Metal centre punch and hammer, makes a prefect bullet hole, don't be shy, give it a proper hit, looks great and properly knackers the screen...

Just wondering how your insurance reacted? Guessing they paid as there is not normally any limit on how many breakages you can have.

They didn't. It was a delete option on the policy.

On a cold frosty morning you by accident use boiling water to defrost the windscreen. Only problem about claiming on the insurance is that you have to declare it if you change your insurance company.
