My fist few mods

agree on the sticker, that reminds me, i need to look into getting a new clear rear light, the lens on mine is cracked. i dont know alot about remaps but would it of been worth having the filter fitted before, so map could be tuned?

Call me an old sceptic :P but if they're claiming a peak 28/39bhp increase for an 3.8/3.6 e34 M5 - which I know is well wide of gains available on these engines - then unfortunately I'd have to take the rest of their claims with a quarry full of sodium chloride.

On an e34 M5 you'd be lucky to get 28bhp with new cams, valves & then the remap. I've seen over 100 e34 M5s and not one of them has ever gained any peak improvement of more than about 10bhp, and even then it was more about the tune-up/service that was done at the same time. However, I've seen e34 M5s gain 30bhp by simply having their valve clearances put back to spec, dodgy MAF replaced, spark plugs changes, etc. - i.e. after an inspection 2 or such.

I'm not saying that in your case they haven't given you 18bhp, and if you can feel the difference then great - I just hope it's not psychosomatic.

BTW, have they told you to run it solely on 98/99 RON, as that's what their website says - and hence that's where some of the power gains will be coming from.

Looks good  I actually quite like the sticker, a nice departure from the stuffy image sometimes attached to the Z4 as a mid life crisis car.

Dubious about the bhp increase though. Peak power my have gone up a bit but I suspect not that much. What were the before figures?

Like the grills...I've got hate hate stories about blueflame! But we'll leave that for another day lol!

Agreed.

Love the black grille  the sticker looks naff IMO  Prefer the red break light on black/darker colours.

Cars looking great :D Hows the exhaust sounding compared to standard?

Hi ,

It does sound much better especially when exellerating.
It is not a cheap and very loud sound, its deep, quality sound

I think the sticker looks fine....to each their own. I have a black car as well and I opted to keep the silver grill for, well, I guess I'm not sure why. I guess I never really looked at it too hard to decide whether it should be silver or black. Thoughts?

I think the choice of grille colour is down to what you are trying to achieve with the overall look of the car. Is it a stealth look, pro race track, subtle steet/custom mods. For yours I personally think that the silver works well with the lights and rims. Others who go for different wheels and dark lights then perhaps that all black look, but it does look a bit faceless.

Before I do any change I also always ask myself would BMW have done it this way if they did this change, conversion, option, etc.
