Hi Silverstar and Sars.

Beautiful car Silverstar……just love black.

Definitely up for some LCI indicators, and changing the alloys, tomorrow im going to spend most of the day valeting the interior, cleaning the leather and steering wheel, generally rejuvenating the interior getting rid of old valeting chemicals off the plastics etc, and deep cleaning the steering wheel…….i cant wait

Many thanks for the compliment. I used a mixture of Woolite and water to clean the leather which seemed to have done a good job. I would also recommend getting rid of the runflats, it's the first thing I did when I bought mine and it transformed the car.

Silverstar, where did you buy the indicators? There’s a company in Los Angeles that makes them, but they seemed pricey. Thanks.

Wanderer……whats a Salmon Relay for?

Nick

Nick if you run a search on here you’ll find a useful thread explaining where to find them as well as how & why to change them

I think Robbie Z4 is the OP of the thread (I’ve not looked so just guessing)

Essentially it’s a very cheap & easy way of doing some roof maintenance, heck I did it & it took me 5 minutes & I know nothing about cars

Here is the thread I was on about but there are others including some with pictures

They are part operation of the roof and can fail
Located at the hydraulic pump.

Simple Car Guy on YouTube has done a video on changing them. (So have a few others).

And there's a good thread on here as well.

Go to page 20 for a picture of what they are & where I sourced mine from (eBay)

Hi Nick, they are about £16 each (you need 2) from BMW, heres a video: https://youtu.be/34_Wa3tXVMg

My local paint / body shop painted them for me whilst they were doing the bumper.

did you mean where do you buy these LCI indicators? they're available in the UK from ebay or generally at approx £80.

is there less availability in the US?

Specifically in black. OEMs are everywhere.

There’s a shop in L.A. that makes them in black. The LED cover too. They look nice. But pricey.

Generally, you are only going to get the original silver ones.
If you want the black one's you will need to get someone to spray them for you or do it yourself.

You need to use a left handed screwdriver to fit them
