touch a large plank of wood to avoid the roof issues ...

No honestly welcome. you've either got to be ready to spend out or have a warranty. Ive been fortunate not to need my warranty but I still am concerned enough to keep it going

lol lol it did make me think when no one replied, but I'm glad you can see the pics anyway, cheers Pondrew, I will say that Alpina is a bit sexy

I see from your sig that you've had EVOs and Scoobys? Surely that's like going to Anfield and Goodison on alternate weeks.

I had an EVO 20 years ago but would NEVER, EVER give the time of day to one of those boxer-loving oiks :o

The zed looks great mate.. as you say a little tidying up and it will be golden.. personally Im not afan of the black on black with the wheels, i think a wheel refurb (or new) would be the first thing i did although thats just a personal taste thing as I think it would suit some contrast.. these cars are great for modding and making your own.. Enjoy

any thoughts on the Z4 pics lads

Hello and welcome

I’m one of the ones allowed to stay up later

Looks good, if I went for black it would be with red leather

I’ve my first set black wheels on my G29 and wasn’t sure about them but they go well with the blue. I’m with Mr Tourettes, the wheels need to give it he black paintwork some contrast, the black wheels on yours get lost and IMO you can’t see any detail or definition on yours which would be the only reason I’d either refurb lighter or if you fancy a change. One of my favourites is the genuine Grey M4 wheels.

I agree, I think its a bit to much black on black, im going to go for gunmetal and diamond cut, which will make it pop a bit, WIP,

Nick, I think it just needs breaking up a bit, maybe change to the newer side indicators and change colour of the wheels.

Hey, Nick. That Zed looks stunning ! Dare I say it's a stubby? Then it's a 10 !

Sorry about the delay, some of us have to work for a living. :poke:

I carry two motorbike patches; the round mushroom kind for round punctures, and the snaky kind for non-round punctures. Some on this very forum will utter absurd nonsense about not being compliant with laws, regulations, blah-blah-blah. I ask you: do you want to wait 2-3 hours for roadside assistance or resume your journey in 15 minutes? It's rhetoric. These two patches fit in the cubby hole in the boot, with room to spare for a small bottle of whiskey.

I also carry a cigarette lighter-powered pump. Nothing too big or overly precise. You just want to get moving again.

I can find product links for you, but they'll likely be for stuff sold here in America. Let me know.

Marc

Enjoy your zed4 Nick, I’ve used these puncture repair kits (otherwise known as rats tails) for years without any issues https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-VAN-TRUCK-AGRI-TYRE-TIRE-PUNCTURE-REPAIR-KIT-WITH-15-STRINGS-UK-/123654898177?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

Hi Marcoose, tell me more about the patch and pump?
It is simply that a run flat will let you drive safely home (or to a safer area), whereas a flat ordinary tyre won't so easily.
There are many solutions, the simplest being breakdown cover I suppose. Some carry a space saver spare.
Ask Rob (Smartbear) about 'rats tails'.
I carry one of these:

Oooh!

....Damn it!
There goes more of my Amazon gift card balance!

What kind of wizardry do you practice good sir?

Upon reflection, i think the wheels look good. They are an expensive change, so no need to change them unless you absolutely have to.

I agree with the indicator change. I think the black indicator is just a step too far.
A set of LCI indicators in silver would set it off nicely & provide a bit of contrast.
I was surprised at how easy it was to replace. Just make sure to prep the area thoroughly with alcohol or paint prep solution.

I recently got mine off LLL parts.

Other than that, i would recommend a ceramic coating. I got it done on my 3 series some years ago and now on the Z4.
If you get a good guy, they will do a first stage paint prep/polish before applying the ceramic coating.
Black is difficult to get right.

At the very least, i would suggest buying a bottle of ceramic coating yourself.
Maybe Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour.
Thoroughly clean & dry the wheel before applying. Preferably remove the wheel so that you can access the interior.

Coat it, let it set (maybe second coat) and re-install wheel.

Then bask in the glory of knowing that a simple hosing down is all you will need to do for a few years.

[ref]Nick7602[/ref], I just woke up after my early night
Car looks great.
A lot of people fit the later LCI indicators, and a lot of LCI owners change theirs to black ones for a contrast.
May be worth a 'Wanted' on the forum to see if any of those still have their original silver ones kicking about?
I think those would give yours just enough to break up the black a bit.
