My first warning lights

So I've had my 2004 E85 just over a week and today the first, I'm sure of many, warning lights came on.

The car beeped and there was a combination of the traction control light on and the handbrake warning light was orange instead of red.

I've not been able to find an explanation of that combination online and was hoping someone might be able to shed some light.

It's worth noting that I was dead still when this happened stuck in stop/start traffic.

Switching the engine off, then back on it went away but I've not had the engine running for any length of time yet.
 
DSC pump or wheel sensor seems to be the most common faults causing this to happen.

If you turn all the way right, then all the way left again, does the light go out?
 
It could just be a brake pressure sensor, dead easy to replace and about £100ish from the dealers, very common fault on these
 
Thanks for the suggestions. Fortunately the car came with a 6 month warranty so it *should* be covered

I let the engine run for 15 minutes there and no lights.

Is it ever the case these things are just transient errors?
 
Get the same on mine, bought a c110 reader and shows pressure sensor, only does it when been driving for a while and appears to be heat soak with sensor no1. When it came on last time I put the reader in data stream mode and could see the pressure readings, was between 7 & 20 bar difference between the two which would trigger the dash lights. When it cools both sensors read the same. Would expect the brakes to drag if there was 20bar in the circuit so must be the sensor.

No should about it if you purchased from a trader. Take it back and give it to them to fix - have a read of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Its never happened to me again so no info I'm afraid :(
 
Codes will still be stored. I suggest you take it back and report the fault so that you are covered if something does break later on.
