Since swmbo packed her bags a couple of weeks ago we, me and my two teenage sons, have been living on not fast but medium speed food! So today I thought I would cook a Sunday roast! Having never done one before it's been a steep learning curve. Chicken took about 1 hour longer than it said so potatoes peas and carrots were all ready miles too early. Forgot to warm the plates etc but all in all not toooo bad. Boys weren't over enthusiastic but their plates were clean as it had taken so long to do they were starving

David I have been racking my brains for your name!! I remember meeting you at the midlands meet. And you having to get off and do some building work and talking about our cars! I am hopeless with names.

hey mate you will be ok hang on in there .my ex walked out after 25yrs marriage left me with my lads 17and 21 year old I started with sunday lunches I think we lived on them for quite a while, i think they got fed up in the end so mastered other stuff . Married again 4 yrs later what a life now
Well done David, after 23 years that's got to be tough but it sounds like you're getting on with life. Good luck and keep cooking.
Sorry to hear what has happened David, but great effort for trying, im sure you will be fine very soon, making all sorts of things for you and the children, chin up things will get easier. Any help for cooking just ask, im sure any of us here will help with a few pointers if you get stuck.
Aw thanks guys and gals for the good wishes. I'm actually enjoying food shopping and trying to bag any bargains. A new Aldi has opened by us and I seem to be in there most nights as I'm not fantastic at doing big shops..just stick to a basket full. Nice doing 'man' shops ie chocolate biscuits and pasta snacks

Online shopping is the way to go. We plan out the meals we're going to eat during the week and then we don't waste any food. Cheaper too!
