My first proper day in my M Roadster

Finally the weather was really nice the last 2 days, bit fresh but dry roads. Wow the Z4m is amazing, this was my first push in the car since I got it Christmas Eve.

Why did I wait so long, and no idea why I didn't think of one earlier.

My only gripe is the car is very understated, no one wants to have a little push with you.

In my Subaru impreza uk hatchback everyone wanted to have a go against.

Or do people find it any different, and how was everybody's weekend? (If weather was nice)

Ps the roof was down and wow standard exhaust sounds lovely.

Funnily enough, I bought mine (not an M, but a 3.0) just before Christmas after having a blobeye WRX for 2 years, and today was also the first day I went for a bit of a 'hoon' in the Z and lets just say, my face looked like this :D :D :D Was very impressed with its capabilities.

I was out in mine this weekend. Had a good blast. Roads were a little damp up my way, so I wasn't enjoying the full potential.

I had a mk1 Audi TT try it on. Quite embarrassing for him really....

Glad you're enjoying it

Only had one car try it on with me. Mondeo st, wasn't even close enough to be entertaining lol

Had to laugh, I took my ///M out today for 3 lovey runs and I know nothing came near nor past me, I have 3 cars and one of my other cars is. 2.5 v6 ST24 show car and I know it would get nowhere near the ///M , even though I love my ST (which wins me trophies every year) the ///M is now my true love (even though the ST is still in the garage)

It was really nice to just go for a drive listening to a real engine. All be you can't knock how a scooby sounds, but there is something very satisfying listen to the cat happily purring at in 6th gear at 40-50 got a real deep note to it, and doesn't feel like it's struggling.

It still doesn't get the looks or attention that I think it should get.

Glad you're enjoying it - look at it this way, the lack of people having a go will help you keep your baby out of a ditch :D

You definitely can't just plant your foot on a corner in the same way in a Z that's for sure. This weekends drive was by far an eye opener of what the car can do.

This is quite ironic as I used to own a St24 back in 2001 & a few years ago I owned a V6 Ghia x as a cheap runabout when I owned my TVR & it was on my way to work following a Z4MR in my Ghia X & I couldn't believe how easy it left me in the corners & that then made me want to own a Z4MR one day which i ended up doing but I agree nobody ever seemed bothered about having some fun with me in my zed which I found was a shame.

Hats off to you having a concourse ford  as I have a massive soft spot for them & I have loved the three mondeos I have owned plus several other fords...I do love the blue oval. :)

This is true, it does stop the boy racers from having a go and getting carried away.

I think more people try it on with the Coupe, as it looks more capable

*runs away*

You're such a turncoat, a few weeks without a roadster and you've gone all hairdresser, running away.... You never did that when you drove a man's Z, you stayed and fought your corner :poke: :P

Bring on the pics I'd love to see them.

Sounds like there has been some fine hooning going on today.

I had the forerunner to the ST24 the SI 24v. It had no front end grip. Made a lovely noise though and was faster than a mates Mk1 WRX, out of roundabouts, So much so he sold the Scooby two weeks after our little encounter and bought a modified S4 2.7.

You may find a different type of car/person hitting on the Z, to the Mondeo. Don't worry though there aren't that many 15k cars that can out gun a well driven MR down a dry road. Or that many 50k ones to be honest. :driving:

(Unless it's a Yellow Boxster, in which case pull over and wave to Carol :D )

You wouldn't be so bad tempered if you bought Rialas's coupé :)
