My First 'Mini' Detail

Afternoon all,

So, today I embarked on a great mission, for the first time I attempted to do more to my Z than merely wash and dry  :P

Here was my running order:

Wash (two bucket method using sheepskin wash mitt, grit guard, Dodo Juice Born to be Mild and Sonax Wheel Cleaner)
Clay
Wash again (just to remove any clay residue)
Dry (plush microfiber towels)
Glaze (PoorBoys Black hole)
Seal/ LSP (Chemical Guys Blacklight)

I'm not too sure about the durability and level of protection that the CG Blacklight will provide, so may purchase some of the CG V7 detailer which apparently adds some decent protection on top of the Blacklight.

I love the results. All products were really easy to use. All-in-all I finished the work in approximately 5 hours (got up at 7am to start, in a bid to beat the rain....I do have a life, honest). Anyway, here are a couple of shots immediately after I finished. Not a bright light here today, but I'm chuffed with the results: :D

EDIT: Please forgive the lack of tyre shine :(

Thanks Guys.

We've just had a shower here, so thought I'd pop out to take some beading shots:

Not particularly impressive from a beading point of view, but WOW, the paintwork looks like glass.

I've read that a second coat of Blacklight really improves the beading, so I might give it another coat tomorrow afternoon and see if it improves.

It's a funny product, Chemical Guys don't categorise it as a wax, seal or glaze, just a "new type of LSP". Time will tell on it's durability, but the shine and slickness is impressive.

Looks luverly

I totally hate how long it takes to do the car properly, and my aching arms afterwards... But when you stand back when it's done and admire the results it makes it all worthwhile 8)

lookin goood! such hard work eh! Any products/tools you found particularly good?

i only did two hours as i was a lazy mofo this morning! "finished" just as it started to rain. gotta say having all the right kit makes it much easier to get a better finish.. and more fun. deffo getting a DA for spring.

will get better pics, tapatalk small pics suck.
