Rod bearings done- I wouldn’t say they were the worst but there was definite signs of wear and copper (51k remember)
The only other job identified was that the rear ball joints were well past their best- so they are getting replaced with lemforder own this weekend
I’ve fitted cup holders, cruise and rear sub speakers, and a gruppe m intake which makes the need for the sub speakers fairly pointless. I’d say that alone has reduced my mpg further just to hear that sound!
Aside from that I’ve been driving it as much as o can to get my moneys worth from the road tax I pay- and enjoying every mile

That's great news Stuart.![]()
The 3 litres are great, but the M just feels so much more special that I can live with the Road Tax. Although the M tax was a bit painful when I needed new front brakes.![]()
My car has got the DSP stereo, but I only ever use it on long Motorway trips because the S54 soundtrack with after-market back-boxes is so tuneful.![]()

Is that to preempt Martin’s comment?
They are addictive, done more miles in the M in a few months than I did with the si in almost two years.
He keeps mentioning the m tax
We all know it’s just envy…
