My First Ever BMW

Hello Everyone
As per the subject title I am new to BMW but not to sports cars. In the past I have owned Morgans and currently own a TVR Chimaera 450 which will shortly going up for sale. My Z4 was bought last Friday but I won’t be collecting it until we return from France next Saturday. It is a 2010 3.0i Automatic with just over 35000 on the clock and a good selection of extras including heated seats, front & rear park assist, satellite navigation, professional radio and ambient interior lighting. Although I’m not sure what this is?
My wife and I are both retired and spend the summer months in France so the car will, hopefully, be seeing hot weather and some quiet and excellent driving roads. No doubt I will have many questions to ask from the knowledge on this forum so I will thank you all in advance.

Bill

Welcome to the forum
Looks like a lovely car . Well done for including pictures first time ( we love pictures ) wish you lots of happy driving :driving:

Hi & Welcome

The ambient lighting is,, lit up door handles inside and outside, lit up door pockets, and lighting behind the seats, that well lights up the parcel shelf

Many thanks for your welcome and replies. I wasn’t too disappointed with the ‘noise’ but of course the TVR does take a bit of beating. The car is in Christchurch so I could only drive it around the local streets which wasn’t ideal but at least gave me a reasonable idea of what it was like to drive. Thanks for the info on ambient lighting.

When I collect the car on Saturday I will be driving from Christchurch to Holmfirth in West Yorkshire a trip of about 250 miles. I guess I should know the car a little better by the time I get home! :)

Welcome to the forum Bill.

Bonus points for photos in your 1st post too! Your car should be great for cruising around quiet French roads in the summer. :driving:

Know the feeling, my previous E85 was my first Beamer

Welcome

Hi and welcome
Great looking car
Holmfirth? - I stopped there whilst on a training course many years ago - lovely place but got snowed in.
Couldn't believe how much it put down - compared to the odd 1/2" we get :D

Thanks. We still get snow but not like we used too. My wife has a Daihatsu Terios for when things get bad in the winter.

Hi, I may never buy anything but German cars from now on, BMW's in particular. Got my 1st a few months ago from my aging father who wanted to keep it in the family, he just can't get in and out so easily any more, a 535i. 2nd was my wife's she (we, )acquired last week. Welcome.... I'm a newbie too.

Well not long to wait now. Staying overnight near Calais and picking the car up from Christchurch around lunchtime tomorrow. :D

Welcome. Great choice and introduction to the brand.
My first bimmer was an E36 coupe and I would never consider another brand since owning an E46 M3, E93 and E85.
In for life :D
