My first detail

This weekend I did my first detail. I didn't do everything I wanted and at some point I will go back to do a good clean of the interior. A friend of mine is a huge fan of Zaino, so I bought a pack of Zaino stuff from Cleanyourcar.co.uk. Here is what I did:

Saturday
Wash with Z-7 (2 buckets & Megs mits + brush for wheels)
Clay with Z-18 + Z-7 & water in a spray bottle as lubricant
Re-wash as above

Sunday
Go outside with Z-5 ready for polish but find muddy cat footprints all over the bonnet and roof, so do a quick re-wash :x
Apply Z-5 polish with ZFX to fine scratches
Apply Z-2 polish with ZFX to entire painted surface
Finished off with a coat of Z-6 gloss enhancer (also put this on the wheels)

Well done B-Rex

How did you find the Z-6 ?
Lovely smell isn't it ?

Try Chemical Guys Hybrid V7 High Gloss Spray Sealant. It's fantastic
As is Dodo Juice Red Mist

Looks great. Z6 is really good, more of a QD which is good to use between polish or sealant coats.

Z8 amazing stuff pricey (£18 per spray bottle) but the finish on top of Z2 is soooo nice.

Cheers

I loved the Z-6 and the smell. My Mrs helped me during that bit (one of us buffed the Z-2, the other sprayed Z-6 and then the toweler dried the Z-6 off - we took turns!) and she hated the smell. *shrug*

Top job. Get some tyre black though man! Nothing worse than a shiny clean car and minging grey tyres! 8)

I have some Zaino tyre gloss stuff but didn't have the time or energy to do it. I will get round to it next time I wash :)

I'd also be interested to hear some good wheel cleaner for the 108s. My father-in-law has given me some AG Clean Wheels but I hear that is too acidic. The Z-7 + Z-6 did a decent job but there are still a few bits of grime that it couldn't clear.

And yes, the discs are rusty

I use espuma revolution to clean the wheels. As for the discs being rusty, a few good solid brakings from 30 to 0 gets rid of that after you have done a wash.
