Right!

Old custom setup was inspired on the SuperSprint system with 2x54mm -> 1x70mm piping

mmmm... wonder what's inside

Messed around with some X and H-pipes as well... to finally arrive at...

... my current and IMHO PERFECT system

Most parts are from German exhaust producer BASTUCK. Bastuck had no importer/distributor in Belgium so I helped them out a bit and together with a friend we are now the **official importer** for Belgium and Holland :D If anyone needs some Bastuck mufflers or complete systems, you know how to contact me

No dynoruns yet, but it does run a lot better than OEM and more important, there is even an increase in torque. It is a lot louder than all my previous experiments.... but that was the goal. It burbles A LOT when I let off the gas.... mmmmm

Great write up! Will check out the clip when I get home this evening. Thanks for sharing it with us, gives some ideas to those sitting on the fence.

i like very much your exhuast. i have a z4 2.0lt and i want to change my exhuast. it is with one pipe and i think that is awful. can you tell me any infos about your exhuast or anything i can do to change my exhuast? like cost?

Looks sweet! And glad you finally got the set-up you like.

How long has it been by the way? :D And I thought I've spent a long time getting my suspensions figured out (only 9 months   ).

JohnZ4greece, the good news with the N46 Z4's is that the muffler again uses 2 inlets.

So you have 2 options: cut off the OEM muffler and replace it with a Bastuck (or other) muffler, rework the inlets a bit and optionally remove the resonator (on LHD car) OR use the Bastuck (or other) mid section together with the Bastuck (or other) muffler and remove the Y-pipe on the downpipe.

If you want TRUE sound and power, this is IMHO the way to go on your RHD car(I gather you're from Greece, and the car is a right hand drive):

replace the OEM catalytic convertor (which, contrary to LHD cars isn't integrated in the exhaust manifold) with a 100- or 200-cell race cat OR straight pipes (depending on the legal constraints in your country), keep the OEM H-box and replace the muffler with a Bastuck or other muffler.

Race sound guaranteed, power increase guaranteed  If you can run straight pipes instead of a cat (you'll need to "free" the oxigin sensor) in your country, the cost would be minimal and the sound and power increase would be quite dramatic :D

If you want prices, just sent me a private message :D

GP20, sure has been a while. I don't drive the car that much... so I had plenty of time to read and learn. Nice to "talk" to you again

damn...I clicked and got nothing! What a great DIY though, fantastic write-up and awesome maps. Looks great...got another link?
