And today I got it fixed :D

I know it sounds bad but I plugged my ODB reader in every month and always the same code - P1413 Secondary Air Injection Pump Relay Control Circuit Signal Low

The Secondary Air pump hasn't worked since the fault appeared but I got the pump tested a year ago and it spun up when current was applied. So I replaced the Relay but that didn't resolve the problem.

So today I paid £200 labour to get the issue diagnosed and fixed. Turns it it was loose/dirty connection in the fusebox so it was stripped and cleaned and now problem solved!!

also just to clarify, I've tried to get this fixed twice before and the last time was at Inspection II last sept

No more orange light....for now :)

You must be feeling good now! No more light staring back at you all the time.

While 200 quid seems a lot to clean a connector, electrical problems can take a lot of time to track down, so I reckon you got away rather lightly. ...and you don't have to look at the stupid light any more!

your right! its a relief to get it sorted. I was advised a while ago that the car would run as normal without the secondary air pump as it only activates for 90 seconds on a cold start to help with emissions but it had been really bugging me and is also an MOT failure now in the UK I think.

Glad its all sorted :)
