Thanks, Jingle its really coming together. Il updates this thread with more pictures as soon as I get the chance.

ok, something to keep you going. Whilst the car is drying/having last bits added I was tinkering around with my door cards they were looking a bit used and old so I decided to play around with some of the same leather the AMG seats came in and after much debate decided just to dremal the backs off and re-cover them whilst the leather panels were off the car i then added the harman karmen speakers that came with the amg door cards - to finish it i recently test drove the i8 BMW with the ambient lighting pack and loved it so as a nod found what it was they used and fitted some just for fun ( these would only light up when the headlights come on )

( this was just testing the lighting so excuse the waviness of it all lol )

These will do until i source some spare door cards and have them properly retrimmed nearer summer time

Nice update. Did you do the door cards yourself? (the re-leathering bit). I've been on the hunt for red seats for a while but I'm sure that the door cards only come in a grey colour - not in keeping with the rest of the car! Someone did re-stitch the leather section of the door card but it's a right PITA so I've never moved that particular item forward.

leather inserts can be easy removed and fitted to black door cards. did that on my previous z4 ,I also swapped all grey plastics that where fitted on red seats

hey buddy, yeah i just cut away the plastic weld on the rear of it and then pulled it off until it broke.. rewrapped the leather panels best i could and then just plastic welded them back in after fitting the ambient lighting .. :)

shell painted, as you can see from the back shot we managed to keep the wide kit looking as OEM as possible without using awful bolts and horrible panel gaps:

The colour on a cloudy awful UK day very similar to the original colour but like I wanted just a few shades darker

A close up of the fuel cap - the wide body kit we made up obviously had a bit of a gap between the body and the new wider kit so we got the fiberglass out and made the step in as a nod to remind me it used to be slimmer! haha

And finally, a little tease picture of the colour and my new AMG seats was really happy seeing how well they paired up!

These are very early pictures and the car still needs clear coating and polishing up etc.. Thanks for reading everyone.

Looking great! Can't wait to see this finished. Personally I probably would have tried to match the fuel cap to the new extended bodywork but that is such a minor on what looks to be an amazing job. Keep up the good work and most importantly the pics! :driving:

I'm the opposite! I rather like the recess created by it being in the standard position
Keep the pics coming!

Yeah in some way i agree I did look at it and think how but I honestly think to make it 100% it would be too much of a minor detail with so much work.. having the make a dimple in the bodywork as a finger access for the flap etc etc plus I wanted to keep some little aggressive looking parts to encourage the m4 style front. If it doesn't look right we can change it later :) haha

Perfect reasoning and like you said can always be changed at a later date it grows on you.

I have a feeling your zed is going to look exactly like I'd like mine to look in my head. However lack of skill and budget means mine will never Happen. Keep up the good work sir!
