sadly it did indeed sell at that price, I didn't end the auction and although the buyer hasn't actually collected it yet, he has been in touch and is (for obvious reasons) keen as hell to arrange pick it up soon as poss.
as mentioned it was a gamble with the auction at £1 with no reserve and early on I had an offer at £4900 which I (in hindsight foolishly) turned down. you win some you lose some.
