Very nice..

Megs is good stuff and easy to use..

Before and after pics please..
Sure thing! Hopefully some in progress pics as well.

I knew I should never have subscribed to detailing world. Waiting on a couple more bits to arrive then full steam ahead.

Also, got a 10% off code from intodetail.co.uk "ebay10" if its any use to someone. Only ordered the tape from them, but fast delivery!

Wow nice kit :) i envy you.. you have almost everything.. how much is the package? i mean where did you purchased these?

Nice, I remember the excitement when my first large delivers turned up......

Get ready to hide future ones and credit card bill from the other half lol

I nearly went 'holy crap' but then realised if I laid mine out I probably have quite a lot more... this detailing lark is proper OCD making. I've had to buy two large lidded tubs to keep the monthly used stuff in. Still leaves two shelves for the stuff I use less regularly.

Good luck with it all though, can't wait to see before and afters :)

Got most stuff from ultimate finish. Spent way more than I wanted to (£300 +).

It was like Christmas going through it all :D

Thats ace i got 1 bottle of wax delivered last night and i was excited. You must be like a dog with two whatsits

Personally I hate the cleaning part... but love the polish, wax and all other stages.

Nothing quite beats the feeling of standing back and seeing yourself in a mirror like finish! LOVELY!

The weather held out so detailed the paint work on the zed today. Started at 10am and just finished (7pm). All very hard work - that I'm not used to.

So here's some snaps...enjoy

Started with a rinse, and then some fairy to strip back any protection so I could polish the clear coat

Another rinse, where you can see the fairy done its job as the waters just sitting.

A quick change of water to megs shampoo

Valet pro brush for all the nooks and crannies.

Cleaned the wheels with megs hot wheels

Into the garage for a clay, which always amazes me how much dirt is left after a wash.

Close up before the da polisher. For those not knowing what to look for, compare the light from iPhone (first one is all blurred with relatively heavy swirls)

It's pitch black now, otherwise I'd of had some better outside shots. For tomorrow - Wheels to be sealed, plastics protected, interior and leather clean/feed/protect. Then that's me done with cleaning for the next 6 months.

Had planned on using snow foam but the flippin thing didn't fit. I think I need a new pressure hose for the karcher (one with a screw fit bot ends).

Also need some more cutting power as the polish took forever to cut through the swirls and rds. I'm thinking megs 105 & 205 with some hex logic pads. Any recommendations from the details amongst us?

looking great that a lot of hard work - one of the reasons i Put mine into a pro was on my last one i could never get the deeper swirls out with a DA .

results look good above though

How many passes are you doing to try and correct the panel ?

Reason i ask is when i corrected the paint on my Z4M R i took me over 20 hours alone to correct the swirls with medium cut Menzerna. I was doing around 16 passes per panel to get where i wanted the paint to be.. All in with glaze and LSP stage i would estimate at a 30hr correction.

That said the sapphire black paint is hard to correct and be 100% happy,my coupe which is Silver grey is a lot easier and the paint was initially far better. But it still took me over 12 hours to correct..

I guess im saying are you giving the cutting process enough time and work to successfully remove the swirls, instead of hitting with a heavy cut perhaps a bit more time per panel may achieve the result your after?

Most sections had about 8 passes. The bonnet where the scratches and swirls were heavy, about 16.

I think it needs a rotary to be honest, and a pro with a gauge to get it looking perfect. The random scratches are too deep for the da IMO. But in 3-4months time when it needs a new coat of wax I'll try some harsher pads and compound. Still, I'm happy with my first attempt.

Rotary will correct faster but needs care.. I have both but do prefer the DA,i can do less damage that way.......lol....

If you use a Menzerna 1000 on a heavy cut pad then it will correct anything.....Just proceed slowly with care!..

The guy who did mine commented how tough the paint is to work on these- plus the amount of spot polishing due to the shape .

Have a good day with it today

Yea..

BMW,Audi,VW paint is really hard so needs a lot of work.

I corrected a 2010 black RRS a couple of weeks ago and was amazed how fast the swirls and scratches came out..
