I felt pretty pleased with myself when I was 20 and bought a Rover P6B 3500S in 1979!

Manual V8 loveliness, but it was way less powerful than a 23i.
Never got the appeal of those. But then I bought a new push bike aged 20. So what do I know.

It wasn't my first choice TBF, I wanted a 3 litre Capri but couldn't afford to buy one and insure it. :(
JPS special Capri. Now that was possibly the first car I ever spotted driving around our village as a school kid and thought.. Wow 8)

I finally got a V6 Capri when I was 25, a 2 year old Strato Silver 2.8i. :D

But even that wouldn't have kept up with a 23i!

She has made a most excellent choice, I wish her many happy smiles

I couldn't imagine having a car like that at that age, fantastic. I was selling cars in my late teens/early 20s, a good sales month and you got a XR3i or a XR2i to bomb about in, did bad and you got a 1.1L 3dr Escort in Tasman blue  Anyway, if she needs any advice I know this really good forum

I had a Capri at that age and loved it to bits
Me too!! ‘86 Paris Blue 1600 Laser. Let’s be honest, the Zed is sooooo much better

Had a 2 tone green 2.0 Laser - looked good, drove no better than a the Cortina it was based on and yes it certainly is a far better car
