Yes. I don't understand the attitude/comments of 'inconveniences me/wastes my time' Do something good and help out someone, it won't kill you!Scooba_Steve said:If that was my car I would hope you would report it and if I was in the OP's position I certainly would.

Nictrix said:A fatal accident that was witnessed by my wife and I was a good 2 hour drive from our home.
The police contacted my wife a few weeks later and wanted her to travel to their station to give a statement, it was during working hours too to suit the cops rota.
Ended up saying no and if they wanted a statement they would need to travel, which they did.
If its something that has happened locally it nmight not put you out but over a distance could be a major inconvenience.

They should, but will they?
A few years ago my (legally) parked car was written off when an artic dragged a corner of its trailer over the bonnet with enough force to crush the front suspension and flip the back end up a 6-inch kerb. A kind passer-by left me a note of the offender's registration. I took the information to the local Police Station and that was the last I heard of it.
I'd guess it all depends on the likelihood of a conviction. The offender can probably say something like "I didn't notice there had been a collision at the time", and they're stuck with trying to prove knowledge. In the absence of injury they'll probably say it's a matter for insurance companies.
