My Coding Days Are Over

A brief but not entirely unenjoyable career.
The Carly WiFi adapter came with the car when I bought it so I thought I'd pay the annual subscription and give it a go.
First thing I did was code out the audible beep when locking the car which for me was annoying - instead I coded the folding mirrors on lock which I use as a visual check when walking away to make sure I've locked it.
Then I coded the digital speedo which I always have on now rather than the temp display or one of the other options like MPG or miles in tank.
Finally after a couple of failed attempts I coded the indicators to blink three times on a short press of the stalk rather than the previous once.
So that's me done and I doubt I will be renewing the subscription especially when I also have an OBD reader  20220828_113504.jpg

Sorry to sound like a know-it-all but you can do that from the BC stalk :D But what you can do with Carly that cannot be done without "proper coding" is change it to 5 blinks!!

Other codings with Carly (but not limited to) include;
Super bright DRL's
Brake Force indication under heavey breaking at lower speeds
Rear lights on all the time (affectiveley rear DRL's)
Opening of the roof at speed (various speeds available)
Windscreen wipers to complete their sweep after ignition is turned off.
Door windows to close after ignition is turned off
Different keys can be set for different codings (only certain codings offer this)
iDrive disclaimer can be removed
iDrive Video in Motion can be enabled

and the list goes on

The last one on the list sounds interesting. Can our idrives play videos via dvd? It's not something I even considered.

Yes you can play dvd's on iDrive as std. when stationary, goes to sound only if you move off..
I think it also plays mpeg files also.
I noticed today if you leave a disc in the drive, as soon as you sit in the car i can hear the disc drive spinning.
So thought it best to remove the disc save wearing out the drive.

I did notice that the DRLs on this car are more like they were on my previous 2014 MY rather than the first 2009 MY I had - I did wonder if the lights had been upgraded but maybe they've just been coded

Yes, Video in Motion is exactly that...... not that I consider, in a two seater, this to be a practical idea!! :driving:

That is the last version of the carly adapter, if you have updated the app this may be your problem, latest version is black in colour
