My Cheapo Golf R (updated pics)

lOVE EM :driving: whats not to like ? Seats 4 , looks great & goes like 5hit through a goose
Not sure the red is the best colour for it though :o

Nice car Mowflow, these were indeed a steal.
The Leon Cupra 3 dr can be had for good money on leases at the moment. £2k down and just over £200 pcm on an 8k deal.
Very tempted. Just got to wait to see if the company will let me have a 3 dr.

Thank you for all the positive comments. I don't know why, but I'm a bit surprised. The car draws quite a bit of negativity from some quarters. Should have known the members of the most sensible car forum on the Internet would be wise enough to form their own opinions.

Yes, I received an email with those deals. It's worth calling and asking about 5dr prices as the deal I took on the golf was advertised as a 3dr. When I enquired about the 5dr they said I could spec that but it would cost more..... It ended up costing £1 more per month

Due to good will from screwing up my delivery date the dealer somehow wiped or paid the VAT on my initial payment so I paid £2k upfront and am paying £179pm on a 10k per annum deal.

You're right, a bit of investigation throws up 5 dr deals. And and estate deal. I might be getting to my customers very quickly this autumn.....

lovely!!

saw a blue one the other day....that was very nice as well.....

styling is quite subtle despite the alloys and the quad exhausts....personally prefer something more lairy!! Or chavvy as my wife would call it.

£179 per month! That's cheap.

I was quoted £350pm with £6k deposit when I went for a test drive. Not that I'm looking for another car

Only on finance deals? No decent deals to buy one? Would be tempting to get one as an estate

Not 100% on the purchase deals. I've only read of a few people buying and the discounts aren't quite BMW level. The average seems to be around 12% which I suppose isn't awful but not quite the 20% you seem to be able to get from BMW.

I'm not sure what residuals would be like, the Mk6 R residuals were rock solid but with all these lease cars hitting the used market in 2 years time who knows. I suspect VW have a plan as they state in the contract there is no option to purchase.

Well I think I take that as a massive forum thumbs up Mowflow ...... and Spectre probably needs to set up a GolfRForum :D

Oh - that's interesting and unusual ( I think) -no scope to buy at the end so you need to hand it back ?

Yes, I'm not usually one for reading all the small print but i did see this on my "skim" through the interesting sections on the agreement. I think they may still offer the option at the end TBH.

Meant to post this as well. A particular favourite of mine (so infantile), every family hatch needs an in dash lap timer.

Indeed - timing those school runs and work commutes is so important to keep one interested !

Nice shot though !

Might PM you re the dealer you used - though I do think these deals are maybe over.
